Bump stop and packer discussion

With the goal of adding some spring stiffness, has anyone tried adding some packers to the OEM suspension? In theory, this should engage the bump stop sooner and increase overall spring rate.

What are packers?

Sounds like spring spacers to pre-compress and reduce travel of suspension to sit on the bumpstops.

Looks like I was partly wrong.

This is really interesting and I'd be up for giving it a shot myself. One thing I'm confused on is once the packer is slotted, what prevents the extreme force from squeezing it free from the shock shaft? Also curious if these will rattle or not as it's not like the bump stop is constantly sitting on it.

Are you tied to OEM suspension for a specific reason?
