Best DIY thread I've seen yet.

This is awesome, and well-written. Thanks a lot. Could you include a link to where you bought the markers, or did I miss it?

Great thread man! I actually did this myself before seeing this DIY, but it came in handy for me today because I was able to find the amber bulbs that fit. Some sites like Amazon and Autozone said that this bulb doesn't fit the FR-S, but I think it's only because the car is new and they are not 100% sure if it fits. Once again, great DIY thread!

Very nice!

Phenominal! Thanks for the detail.
I just yanked mine out with my hands and used the bag (Subaru Bulb) that the bulbs came in, to not get hand oils on the bulb. I found out after the fact that people have been breaking them? This DIY will really help those breaking stuff. |

Thanks for the DIY. A couple comments: I believe that you twist the sidemarker COUNTER-clockwise to separate it from the bulb housing.
Also, I didn't really have to pull the sidemarker out and then press down the clip. You can push down the clip when the sidemarker is fully in, and it will pop out. Just make sure you are applying pressure with your flathead screwdriver onto the sidemarker's CLIP, and NOT onto the metal bracket that it clips into. (If you apply a lot of force to the bracket rather than the clip I think you risk warping the bracket and making it so the sidemarker doesn't clip back in as snugly/properly.) Oh and if you're blind like me it also helped to jack up the front of the car for easier vision and access. |
