I've got the same rattle but I haven't hassled about it yet...
My gearlever knob's also skew, so I'll have a go at sorting them both out next week.
Thanks a lot!! :)

Pleasure.

The knob screws in, just put a small drop of Loctite on the thread and screw it back in for a permanent fix. If you screw it in too deep the plastic top will pop off.

Got the same issue, i sent it to toyota 2x and they just replaced the lever and that did nothing to stop the rattle.

Will try this over the weekend. thank you for the fix...

Pleasure.

Same here - 2 new gear levers and then it wasn't fixed. Mechanics are not what they used to be.

Hey, who spent two days under the car discovering the problem while installing his quickshifter :party0030:

MacJunkie 05-24-2015 01:00 PM

Well after throwing my toys with Toyota they have replaced the gear lever for the 3rd time and now all the gearbox mounts. If I do this and it fixed the problem I'm liable to kill someone at Toyota.

LOL well I've told the guys at one of the dealerships about it, hopefully the news will spread.

I have mentioned the fix to mcarthy centurion. I took my car there had it lifted and had them look at the quick shifter install and where the root of the problem for the rattle lies.

"Oh that is interesting, we will look into it.", was their response. :iono:

I don't know how many of us have this problem. Ill start a poll for us and find out.

Toyota need to make this a directive, maybe escalate to Toyota SA? as the Dealerships are abit slack, Let me know if you guys need help.

So glad I am not alone in this but this fix looks a little above my technical skills, is there somewhere one can go to have this done ?

I will try Toyota first and see how it goes
