PHAT86 - Nick's Toyota 86 Rocket Bunny V2 build from downunder!!
Welcome to my build
Names Nick, I'm 21 and currently live in Melbourne, Australia. I work in the logistics industry and play Inline hockey! Enough about me though, here's what you really came here for! My Australian delivered Toyota 86. Purchased brand spanking new from the dealership early 2014. Have big plans for this build, which include a HKS v2 supercharger kit, but sadly that'll have to wait until the end of next year due to P plater laws restricting us young'uns from driving cars with forced induction :( Current mod list: Exterior:
Wheels and tyres:
Suspension and exhaust
Interior
Tuned on e85 with a custom tune via OFT Parts that are waiting to be installed:
Car went being completely stock, to mildly modified, to a no fucks given build :) -Day I purchased her http://i.imgur.com/xEFttIj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pHS0qsn.jpg -First mod was a set of Work Meister S1's 16x8 +30 all round! http://i.imgur.com/r6afRSn.jpg These were sold a month later due to me running out of talent and spinning out into a gutter :bonk: Once the meisters were sold, I decided to purchase a set of SSR SP1's and wrapped them in some nexen n6000's. http://i.imgur.com/xbmVVGS.jpg I rocked these for about 2 months then decided to get them resprayed. The colour combination I chose were Matte Black faces with satin black lips. Also installed a HT Auto lip kit!! Although I was quite content with the appearance of the car, I was missing something.. MOAARRR LOWWW!! I went out and purchased a set of BC coilovers with 10kg front and 8kg rear spring rates. http://i.imgur.com/x9PSQc5.jpg |
After driving the car around for about 4 months, I was contacted by FLOW DESIGNS. They wanted to use my car to develop some prototype side splitters.
Once they were completed, the HT Auto front lip and side skirts came off, and the FLOW stuff went on :) http://i.imgur.com/x1flbmo.jpg The owners of FLOW DESIGNS also invited me to show case my at their stand at a car festival called the "Festival of Giving" run by the boys over at ESTABLISHD http://i.imgur.com/JgTMLpj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CHJMnnM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/opItF2p.jpg Beard Game Strong ;) http://i.imgur.com/RufMfDK.jpg |
Next up came the exhaust system!
Custom blast pipes were fabbed up http://i.imgur.com/KJMrIO8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/neGh4dk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DlODWKz.jpg Followed by some Powered by Max RLCA and some hardrace toe arms (Also dropped the front and rear) http://i.imgur.com/6dCd2bz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dkvDTjn.jpg Bride Gias Low Max II Drivers seat http://i.imgur.com/1Mjytjk.jpg Went to remove my wheel to clean it to find I had stripped studs, so out came the stock ones, and in went some ARP extended studs :) http://i.imgur.com/UoN8vD8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oS6r6QO.jpg Here are some random photo dumps ive found http://i.imgur.com/Edu5Tw5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xOu2hro.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0c1367s.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2BA6A5X.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2mUDHhE.jpg |
Went for a hill run with the VIC 86 club and ran into some trouble :burnrubber::burnrubber:.
http://i.imgur.com/SXT4Cv6.jpg Thankfully, after being pulled out, I inspected the damage and it wasn't that bad! So after some (alot) of cable ties, the front bar was back on and off we went :D Some photos of the damage when I got home http://i.imgur.com/WZsAivo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aXXFQcd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1Rnf1wS.jpg All fixed and gave her a much needed wash!! http://i.imgur.com/LB2PE7L.jpg After nearly driving off a cliff, I decided to ask a friend to do a photoshoot http://i.imgur.com/JtgTKYk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WfK7ZYw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gLDN3gc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WX9Emwr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tqNim7C.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zsMhD8q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tn3Evfz.jpg Also attended the 2015 All Toyota Winterfest @ Sandown Racecourse My favorite photo of my car http://i.imgur.com/APcqcLN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aw1nrUg.jpg Shortly after this I slammed the car down ever more http://i.imgur.com/jOH970H.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DlODWKz.jpg |
Now here is where the build goes into the "No fucks given" stage. Was driving to the shops when I got pulled over by our 'friendly' local highway pootrol :( They pulled me over for doing the speed limit in a unmanned construction zone.
Due to the speeding fine, I lost 3 demerit points and therefore lost my license for 6 months :sigh::sigh: To put the cherry on top, they also defected my car for being too low, not having a H pattern on my shifter and for no horn (broken clockspring). http://i.imgur.com/917oIEd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oejbw3V.jpg Being defected, I had to revert the car to stock in order to get a roadworthy certificate. This is where the build started getting hectic! I ordered the Rocket bunny v2 kit, a BCL wing, Airlift V2 airbag suspension kit, and got my SSR's widened. BCL wing http://i.imgur.com/khQlQCF.jpg Rocket Bunny kit http://i.imgur.com/wwAHjD7.jpg New wheels http://i.imgur.com/JP2w81A.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YsT9jxz.jpg Test fit of the wheels http://i.imgur.com/tSdbkx9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DrWCabe.jpg New rego plates http://i.imgur.com/OZSwtVN.jpg Now all we do is play the waiting game, I get my license back on the 10th of March so the kit will be installed 2 weeks before that date. I'm planning on cutting the guards myself. That's all for now, Here's some random photo dumps http://i.imgur.com/8aokSRF.jpg http://i.imgur.com/98OO6xj.jpg New shift knob - Make sure you check out WEARELIKEWISE for some dope products http://i.imgur.com/nvSLG6D.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vSCWhRr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BfV4Y7j.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WdOwPdj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3oFMQw2.jpg |

They gave you a ticket for
not having a H pattern on my shifter Why is that important over there? |
The Australian police are the Nazi Germany of the road down here. We have a set of rules that if we break deems our car unroadworthy. The H pattern is needed to avoid confusion incase an emergency service worker needs to move the car.
Example: The car musn't be lower than 90mm, wheel track musn't exceed 25mm from factory, wheels can't protude from guards, Etc |
UGH, where I live we have no rules like that. We don't even have emissions lol
|
You guys have venomous snakes, deadly spiders, massive salties, and vicious koalas. Now you are telling me your traffic laws are fascist?! -_-
Nice car by the way! Hope the build gets better. |
Yep! In terms of living in Australia, it's a beautiful country (once you learn to live with all the animals trying to kill you ;P)
However, if you drive a modified vehicle, you are classified as a class 5 terrorist and it is recommended to carry around a bottle of lube in your glove box. |
Loving the way this ultramarine/Metallic blue looks with those all black SSR's
|
How many different h patterns are there? What can vary besides where reverse is and how many gears you have? Why don't they mandate autos so anyone can drive your car lol
|
Quote:
~Zionswrath: I think there'd be like 10 different H patterns tops. It's just a revenue raising excuse :( For the first 4 years of our license we can't even drive turbo/supercharged or some 6cylinder na's (350z/Nissan skyline v37) |
