I wonder if you can just replace an airbag to have the airbag light removed. i always thought once the airbag deploys, all the airbag components in need to be replaced, ex airbag seats, pax seats.
a friend had his BRZ airbag deployed and i tried to install his old BRZ seats and i got an airbag light.
Please let us know when you've figured things out, this would be valuable info :) Good luck!

The guys at the dealer said car is automatically totalled/write-off when airbags deploy, and the sales guy told me to call him re: 2017 gt86 :bonk:

You can pull your SRS control module and get it wiped for about$50. Replace the airbag and do that. No more airbag light. Toyota will try to replace about a dozen components costing a few grand. Hey an airbag off the forum or ebay. Just make sure it's OEM, not knockoff(they exist). Wheel and control arm etc are easy to replace. I did this exact thing 2 years ago but a lot harder. If you already called insurance, take the check and fix it yourself. You'll end up with a big pile of money left over

I spoke with the insurance adjuster the next day, and she said that once the claim is in, even if i fix it and they pay out 0$, it will be on the record and increase my premiums. so i kind of gave up at that point, and decided to just let them handle it.

Is that something worth reporting? Replacement wheel could be had for cheap..$50 it seems. Airbag is $200: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1420106...&ul_noapp=true
Something is bent too(lower control arm?) but it all seems like a days worth of work and no calls to the insurance.

This was my first time when an airbag went off, and i wasn't thinking straight (had ringing/hearing loss in my ears for 3 days, afterwards).
The next day i immediately regretted it, because my insurance premium is going to destroy me now, and i could have just paid a few thousand out of pocket to fix it.
I've had this car for under a year, and have already clayed/waxed it 3 times, rustproofed, etc. so calling insurance was an emotional decision, not a rational one.
Oh well, you live and you learn, i guess...
31,000$...
