Also I just checked my coolant level and in the reservoir it's between low and full which is good but I was wondering where should it be inside the rad cap?

In the rad cap should be just barley on top.. when you lightly squeeze the radiator hose you will see the coolent push up.. be careful hose can be hot if you just ran it.. let it cool a bit plus the coolent needs to cycle first..you wont really get much of a accurate if car is cold and pump has not cycle. .

Be careful when opening cap when hot..let it cool first
