OK I keep saying I will make a thread on the subject so here it is.
As discussed in the counting with pics thread I want to build a diorama of the pic.

I have the 104 kit already:
(I am way off my game today and attached the wrong pic before)

The chopper was easy:

It is sitting on an old Soviet BTR carrier:

Just don't know what the tail in the foreground is from even though it looks like something I should recognize. Anybody?

Well this didn't help much!

32 minutes and the problem is solved.

Edit: PS, post pics when done. Terminator one you did was pretty cool.

Well about 40% of what I do for these is research. I will be weeks or even months away from the actual build on this yet.
The Terminator one meant I watched that opening sequence over 100 times. I was starting to dream the thing before I was done.

I use to do modeling. I really enjoyed the process of painting the parts and assembling the model. I stuck to cars only. I helped a friend do the Starship Enterprise too.

My dad, brother and I built the Enterprise when I was VERY young while watching Star trek when it first aired. That model is still on a shelf at my moms.

Looking for advice on good modeling paint supplies. My fiance and I are getting Sci-fi centerpieces 3d printed for the wedding and are looking to paint them ourselves. I've done some of this in the past, but that was a while ago. What are we going to need, what paints work best, etc?

:thanks:

Edit: I believe the prints are PLA plastic if that matters. Also looking for advice on how to paint them well.

Given the right kit the paint would be relativity easy.

Thanks. The potato pics don't do justice. My son (who I made it for) is getting an actual photographer to take some shots.

Currently working on a F-4 catapult launch diorama in 1/48 scale.
Be basically like this including the people.

Slowly gathering pictures as per requests.
Most look like crap and the actual products look far better since they don't shine like they do with the flash.
Mostly military stuff from around the Vietnam/Cold War era since that was the equipment I worked with.

Centerpieces all done. Technically 3d printed, but still a model made of plastic?
