Which style phone mount is best ?

Vent mount or windshield suction mount?
Magnetic or spring clips?

Threads are old. Options change.

Anyone got something they like?

I use one that mounts inside the CD player entrance, it's okay but blocks the radio a little bit. But my goal was to keep the windshield clear as possiblehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f326e3a365.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...67573882a0.jpg

I've decided I want to avoid the spring clamp kind.
I want a magnet one.

I have this one mounted to the right of my head unit. I love it. Can see it easily & can plug it in with a 6” charging cable. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e80c2a5e48.jpg

This is the best one I've found:

How about "mounting" it inside the glove box ??

2 Attachment(s)
3D printed from forum member and installs without tools and is removable. Just add your mag mount of choice.

Not new or anything, but I have a generic suction mount on the little side window next to the mirror. I'm away from my car, so I can't take any pictures right now.

Pros:
-Easy to glance at if using for navigation
-Not in the way of anything important

Cons:
-Needs a long charger cable and clever routing due to opening the door.
-Out of reach of passenger if you need them to do something (my fiance is usually the navigator)

I have a Galaxy Note mounted there to run Torque as an engine monitor. Here's what I did with the cable:

There's a little square gap at the top of that panel just big enough to let a cable pass through. It's as if it were designed to allow this.

I have the cable run to a USB power port mounted to the steering support member under the dash (not shown). I have the USB port powered off the heated seat circuit in the fuse panel under the dash right there using an add-a-circuit.

It makes it a lot cleaner than having to plug it in somewhere. Eventually I'm going to run that cable through the boot in the door hinge and out the little gap next to the small window, so that it doesn't need any slack to open and close the door.

So much better than my solution. Mine was just to string it along using cable clips in the interior panel gaps.

That's the exact one I have. It's good, but the claps are slow moving in the winter when it's cold.

Because then I can't see my GPS directions or my radar.

I've been using this mount for a few months and love it, only thing is you will need a case for the phone that covers the back so you can place the magnet inside (unless you don't mind a magnet sticker on your phone).

I bought this one.

Holds well, and doesn't block the entire vent.
