Because the record is created from an erncounter with another patient ( the mother) they need to use a "boarding" profile, which becomes the baby's record once they're set.

Sometimes the coding in Epic gets stuck with the patient being a boarding mom, and it won't let you place orders for the baby, because it think it's a boarding mother still.... so rather than work with Epic ( vendor), they just leave the process broken and create a new medical record for the baby.

TL;DR- Can't tell the parents they can leave with their baby until the computer says so. Computer says " no". Rather than fix, they tell the computer it's a different patient until it says " ok, you can go home"

I thought you were talking about a computer game or something at first :bonk:

I mean, the Epic healthcare system is like a computer game for doctors. Basically Darksouls- they either gitgud, or they quit working at the hospital and find one who isn't using Epic yet

Welp, you could take it off and solder the hole closed (good luck with that).

OR just buy a new one.

OR Bubby suggests to take it off, lay it on its side and fill the area around where it's leaking with JB Weld - :iono:

I pulled the trigger on a new proper Setrab yesterday. Easy six clams.

We had Epic at my work. Luckily I was finance and payroll systems. No patient data in my databases, and no hipaa worries, lol.

today i learned that the card i thought was my debit card i've been using for a couple dozen amazon purchases for the last 2 months was actually my old company credit card that the company took back due to it's interest rate or something, but didn't disable.

i also learned i much prefer accepting the big fat checks from work instead of writing big fat checks to work.

Phil: Hey Gary? Do you know what JB Automotive LLC is?
Gary: No. Why?
Phil: there are about $3,600 worth of charges to this place...
Gary: Google says that it's something called Subispe-
Soundman98: Guys, come check out my new car parts!
Phil: All right, Soundman98, what was your mailing address? Just mailing out corporate holiday cards...

TIL it’s safe and okay to take a picture of yourself going 86mph and your mileage hitting 86868 in 6th gear because it was your wife who took it super close up while you were driving.

Today I learned competitive slot car racing is a thing.

Today I learned it made more sense to call the help desk in Hawaii from the middle east than to call either the EU desk, Kuwait desk, or the CONUS desk.

Japan's got a couple variations. Mini 4wd is my fixation. The championships are so fast, it borders on supernatural.
