Big thanks to http://www.Eurowraps.com for completing the (as far as I know) worlds first black chrome vinyl wrapped FRS. This car has been breaking necks all week long.

A few more just to show you how different this chrome looks in less light:

Looks absolutely stunning!!

Ryuu0u 11-24-2013 12:39 PM

Now that is a tasteful chrome wrap! Actually almost looks like a stock paint job from that angle. A little less chrome and I think this should have been the 10 series color.

white devil 11-24-2013 03:49 PM

WOW! I want that!

hamzam 11-24-2013 04:30 PM

You could kill werewolves with that thing!

Not as much as you'd think. Black chrome vinyl wrap is the most expensive wrap you can buy however.

arashishozen 11-25-2013 01:21 AM

How good dues it hold up? How do you clean it? 0:

I'm a bit torn on it. Part of me likes it but another part of me doesn't. Maybe it is because of certain lighting.

BlueDubbinTDI 11-25-2013 09:55 AM

I think flat black wheels woulda completed the look better.

OICU812 11-26-2013 01:08 AM

Some more bright daylight pics be cool?!

SciOnDrifTtSlIdeR 11-26-2013 01:25 AM

wow that looks great,

SmsAlSuwaidi 11-26-2013 01:30 PM

vinyl wrap needs good care though, i have a normal gloss color wrapped car and you need to wash it with care. Friends with chrome wrapped cars tend to have a lot of scratches in it after owning the wrap on for over than a few months

ichitaka05 11-26-2013 01:36 PM

Oh wow! They did awesome job!

Can we be more specific?

I don't work for eurowraps.com but I'd wager you could get an 86 wrapped in that same chrome for about $6,500. You can do it yourself for a lot less, but that's assuming you can figure out how black chrome works before you waste a ton of product. On top of that, they provide a ton of customer service and at the end of 3 years they will replace the entire wrap for free.

I think it was worth it now knowing my paint won't get damaged for a few years.

Sexy..

cmcauley 11-26-2013 05:32 PM

Very Nice

White64Goat 11-26-2013 05:34 PM

About $7K +/-.............

Dang Lad 11-26-2013 05:35 PM

Holy crap, absolutely stellar.

bunny86 11-26-2013 06:02 PM

What exactly is the point? It's just a gimmick isn't it?

AznKirby 11-26-2013 06:36 PM

That first picture looks really good.
As for the rest, I feel like that's what it would look like on a day to day basis .. Less than appealing, in my opinion.

Also, driving behind this at night seems like it would be a pain in the ass.
If you like it, it's all that matters. But no go for me

like anything else about aesthetic mods, its about appeal. Vinyl Wrap gives a owner a non-destructive method to change to color and finish of the car, more importantly can offer a wider range of textures and patterns not available in paint.

Black Chrome is one of my favorite colors on a car, and iv only seen an actual well done Black Chrome paint done on a lambo with a hefty price tag of $19,000USD.

Why full chrome on a car? Chrome and Mirror Finishes give an almost optic camo illusion like you would see with Predator, or ..uhh....Protos? It reflects the pattern of its surroundings putting the texture of the land on the car. The biggest draw backs is it also reflects light and can blind people when light is directed at it. Even if black chrome is a less violent mirror, vs chrome.

What matters is the owner, and how it he wants his car to look. But also fits within the general population's views of what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye/beautiful.

I personally love the look, but I'd never do it.

jdcorbitt3 11-26-2013 06:56 PM

I like the CJ3 in the background.

Muskokan 11-26-2013 07:11 PM

Wonder how long that'll last.

I'd say haters gonna hate, but honestly, few people dislike the black chrome. I've gotten thousands of instagram likes, hundereds of facebook likes. This vinyl gets a lot of attention in person and accents the already good looks of the car so much so that people ask if it's a Ferrari or a Lotus (which I know is silly but it happens a lot).

My number one goal with this car is to be different. I'll never be the best (or even good) driver or have the fastest car, but I love driving this thing to death and it makes me smile to know that what I have is somewhat unique. I've seen a full chrome FRS somewhere on the internet, but it wasn't to my liking.

I share these pictures so you guys can have an open conversation about changing the looks of your cars for relatively low cost and making it your own. I welcome people to say they don't like it and I hope that this topic remains civil.

I'm not a chrome fan, but this... THIS is acceptable. Well played OP! Like others have said I would never do it myself, but she looks good to me!

Kevstra 11-26-2013 07:45 PM

Liebot... looks incredible. Kudos to you for trying this out. After I saw the Chrome BRZ posted on here, I really started wondering what a Hyper Black would look like. You have satiated me, and left me wanting that for myself.

What colour was the car originally?

bfrank1972 11-26-2013 07:49 PM

It looks surreal, like somebody rendered your car.

Thanks for the kudos. I was really nervous about trying this out, but the results are amazing. The original color is asphalt.

The mirrors are LED side mirror covers from our good friends and vendor Diode Dynamics. These are also wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl!

Turbowned 11-26-2013 08:08 PM

I really don't want to like these chrome-wrapped cars, BUT IT LOOKS SO SICK!!!

Wonderbar 11-26-2013 08:46 PM

I actually dig it.

ronboogieon 11-26-2013 08:53 PM

Very classy look.

Is this your daily driver? (If that's been answered already sorry for the repost)

Rayme 11-26-2013 09:08 PM

It looks like a black car with a heavy HDR exposure, I like that alot.
