Ducati 1199 Superquadro engine specs

If the FR-S/BRZ doesn't meet my expectations, going to go this route.

In calculating the optimum configuration to achieve the next big step forward in power output for the L-twin engine, Ducati and Ducati Corse engineers increased engine speed and enhanced breathability with the incredible bore and stroke of 112mm x 60.8mm. The intense study of power and ridability resulted in an output of 195hp @ 10,750rpm and 98.1 lb-ft (13.5kgm) @ 9,000rpm. The new bore and stroke ratio of 1.84:1 effectively increases rpm with the ultra-short stroke of the crankshaft and increases the cylinder area to enable increased valves diameters. Inlet valves have increased from 43.5 to 46.8mm and exhaust valves from 34.5 to 38.2mm.

The power isn't what is going to be revolutionary on this bike, it's the 15K interval with the Desmo valves and the fact that it's not going to have a trellis frame!

So Ducati has finally advanced to the 1990's in frame design?

(Don't mind me, just bored...)

The FRS/BRZ specs/updated pics tickled my fancy but not as much as the Panigale!

I have seen it on Duc website when I was trying to search for Diavel. It's a beautiful looking bike, and it's the first Ducati sportbike that I like. Previous one? Meh. 195hp is good for less than ~365lb body, but for goddamn sake, add some comfort to the bike. Not only 6ft tall are able to buy a Duc.
P.S. I just don't get it why magazine review always compare 1200cc to 1000cc. They are sportbike, they got technologies from motoGP, but they don't have the same displacement.

In WSBK the displacement limit is 1200cc for twins and 1000cc for I4 so that became the benchmark for cross comparisions and testing. Also MotoGP is going to 1000cc for next season too. That should be fun!

The Diavel is a nice bike too! Are you thinking about picking one up?

Yeah. 1000cc will be used in the next season of MotoGP. I'm really excited to see that.
I sold my CBR, and now I'm thinking about picking a new bike up in the Winter 2012. I feel like I want a naked/cruiser more than a sportbike now because I haven't gone to track at all this season. When I saw the slick looking of Diavel, I fell in love. I will probably pick used one up. :D

Troy Bayliss and Ernesto Marinelli give a full break down on the Panigale design and dynamics! :w00t:

So much technology that has been gathered and implemented from racing into this machine! I don't know why cars don't follow this pipeline like motorcycles do.
