Subaru BRZ or Scion FR-S?
Okay yes I am a chick and I will admit I don't know everything there is to know about cars, that's why I hang out with the guys so I can learn a thing or two and be around the nice rigs, but I am looking into these two cars and just wanted feedback on them before I made the purchase!

Well they're both basically the same car driving wise, except for springs I hear, but it shouldn't really make a difference to differ you from buying one from the other. The front bumper is the only thing different from the outside as well, so decide which front end you like better. Some like the BRZ better, some like the frs better..
The base models for both cars are different as well, the frs does not come with navigation standard, the BRZ has it on base models, which is part of why they are more expensive You get more with the BRZ, which is why it's costlier. But you can also add on the other options with the frs.. I would reccomend getting a used BRZ personally. The HID headlight's and navigation is worth it. BRZ if you want world rally blue color as well :) |
Flip a coin, heads - brz, tails - frs

Can I ask something? Are you still located in China? I don't recall the Scion marque branching out there. You should be looking for a Toyota GT86 and not the Scion FR-S if that's the case, unless you're importing one for some reason.
Since you asked for the FR-S vs. BRZ, the main differences between them are mainly the looks (headlights and front bumper mainly) and the badges. The suspension was at one point different, but starting with 2015 IIRC, the FR-S suspension is more tame. Unless you were to pick up a special edition FR-S (i.e. Monogram), you can only get HIDs, dual climate control, push-start, etc. on the BRZ Limited. The BRZ Premium is pretty much identical to the FR-S (without the aforementioned features) except that it still has HIDs. Oh yeah, the FR-S has an exclusive Hot Lava color, while the BRZ has the trademark World Rally Blue exclusive to it. The FR-S has three additional colors exclusive to special editions: 10 Series Silver Ignition, RS 1.0 Yuzu Yellow, and the upcoming RS 2.0 Desert Storm, while the BRZ has a special edition Series.Hyperblue with paint of the same name, as well as Series.Blue editions the prior year, but with only World Rally Blue or Crystal White Pearl (not exclusive from other BRZs). |
A chick said I am a chick,,so rare. (For some reason, I think its funny.)
Your drives statues already determine what you gonna drive. JK Both same exact car, just different badge, different bumper. I personally like BRZ WR BLUE, and the baby blue. However, i purchase a 10 series cus it has Brz limited options but with FRS aggressive front bumper. |
One brand it seems has better customer service than another, being that your a chick and, Im making a bias statement,..... I'm thinking your not going to be doing any work on it yourself......I would go with the brand that treats its customer best in the service department.

If you want to know about cars, you can research with the internet on your own time. Hanging out with people is great, but the magical land of the interwebs has a plethora of information at your disposal. As for the difference between them, http://lmgtfy.com/?q=difference+between+2015+brz+frs If you don't care for driving feel and maybe pushing the limits of the car a bit don't buy it; it's likely you'll end up with buyer's remorse. |

Depends on whether the OP wants an inferiority complex or not. If yes, the FR-S it is! :D

FRS has stiffer springs, BRZ has nicer updated interior. FRS has logo on the side, BRZ doesnt, BRZ has a longer side vent, FRS has a tiny one. I think maybe the BRZ has a different front on it, or so I read.
Drive them both, make a decission then. I only had to drive the FRS once and it blew all my indecision away. I didn't even want to go look at the other cars I had in mind, actually one was sitting right beside the FRS (370Z) but the FRS blew it away in looks. 370 would have been faster but it is a heavy car. |
I think he just said he was a chick to get good feedback and not the typical "do a search" reply. lol jk maybe? If you're a chick, prove it lol

Pics or it didn't happen. Dis goin to be good.

Having owned a G37. It was quick. No doubt. But not nearly as enjoyable as the BRZ. Cornering was muted in the G. Cornering in the Brz with wider tires is just 😆 the whole time.

If your a real chick. Welcome. If your a guy pretending to be a chick. You're a troll and you have other problems.
The BRZ has slightly better interior options, but the GT86 has a cooler name. You're choice ... Essentially the same car. |
I wouldn't buy BRZ. I don't like Subaru's brand image: wilderneass, camping, safety, and we love each other. I want asphalt, a 5-star hotel, aggressive driving and hating other drivers ;-)

Approaching 60 your age or how many new cars you have bought? If cars why so many? (Serious questions not a slam) |

I can't help but wonder if OP mentioning "I'm a chick" is the reason why no one has gone apeshit about using the search feature yet.

Are HID headlights an option for the FRS? My BRZ has them and they really light up the road.
Otherwise, choose the brand based on your positive experiences at the dealership. Don't forget to stop by the service desk and introduce yourself as a potential new customer. Those are the people you will be dealing with in the future. |

You can always do a BRZ headlight swap or upgrade the projectors. |
In hindsight, I'd get the BRZ for the headlights alone. I hate the front bumper though. I like the FRS bumper a lot more since I am a fan of the aggressive styling. But I don't like the gt86/monogram hid lights. Think they're kind of tacky with that strip of LED.
In a perfect world, I'd have the BRZ headlights with the FRS bumper. |

Basically comes down to 2 things.
1. Color, if you want WRB, get Subaru. If you want Hot Lava, get Toyota 2. Front bumper face...which you like more. I was and am a Subaru fan boy, but i chose the Toyota version because i liked the front face better. In terms of color i wanted red which both versions came in so it came down to the front bumper face for me. Other than that the cars are exactly the same, especially in China since i believe the interior is the same as in the BRZ. |

Despite the mustache, I like that the BRZ front looks more like my face as I'm driving it, :D Rather than the FRS, D: |

Nice work on being one of the few guys that responded that understands that OP is in China. The stripped down FRS is not an option there and the differences between the BRZ and the Asian market 86 are minimal. |
