Haha I posted about this in thr random thoughts thread this morning, but I feel it deserves its own thread. Okay so now add a poll asking "is this still a GT-86" cuz I think it is too far gone to be truly considered one.

Theres probably nothing much gt86 left on that car but wait...are those Toms? lol

Fast as balls no doubt, but that car has like 5 small parts from a GT86 on it, and two of them are the tails, lol.

You'd need CAI as well to achieve this.

I just love that the car that everyones talks s#% about in the car community for being slow is the fastest import now. Not even awd! Not even the Alpha Omega GTR!

I mean yeah it's heavily modified but they chose the 86 as the platform, not a WRX, not a EVO, not a Supra. Which leads to assuming if you heavily modified all other imports, this is still the fastest (currently at least)

Even though it's just the chassis, it's our chassis! hahaha. Idk why this made me really happy. It just proves how capable the car is in whatever direction you are going with, be it autocross, track, or drag strip. You might lose character of the car in the way but high end cars usually do at the high-tier level. Unless it was a supercar to begin with.

New milestone for imports! What's next?? Lots of respect for the tuners.

Impressive, I wouldn't classify it as the fastest import in the world though. For me at least it would have to be street legal and not a pure dragster.

Is it simply a tube-frame race car with a look-alike body atop or is there an actual gutted GT86 frame somewhere in there?

Eh, it isn't even so much a chassis as it is just a body just barely representing an 86 draped over a tube frame dragster. There's absolutely nothing OEM let alone factory about it at all. Impressive, yes, but nothing to write to Gunma about.

Sure it's the fastest import dragster, but so was the "Celica" and "tC" before it. All of them have a 2JZ under the hood, so don't be surprised if an "Auris" suddenly takes that record. :iono:

It's safe to say that the 86 draped over the frame looks the sexiest going down the 1/4th@5.77.

Can't find info but in all odds that is a carbon fiber shell that just looks like an 86 not even a real body so it doesn't even get points for that.

I know it barely resembles a GT86 and it has the heart of the supra, but guys. EkanooRacing has a 5 second supra dragster as well. I wonder why they are getting A BETTER TIME with their GT86 rather than the supra? Anyways I know none of this really matters because now... the GT86 HAS the title of Fastest import in the world. Doesn't matter if it required the stock chasis or not.

What I would really like to see is the fastest stock chasis.. Including using the FA20 engine. I know basically anyone has been just swapping 2jz's into their cars (there was even a mustang that had a 2jz in it).

Yes. Drag racing doesn't really interest me, but I would still like to see what the record for this is.

I think theres a thread on here for people to post their quarter mile times... but definately want to see a turbo FA20 build that pulls that fastest on the ZN6 stock chasis.

^ or fastest import powered dragster. Because once you mess with the body of the car it no longer is that said car (GT86 per example)

I really enjoyed this vehicle build when it first started because it was simply a 2JZ swapped GT86. Now it's more fiberglass than actual car so I'm not as interested anymore.

If it has a GT86 frame inside that shell, I'm willing to call it a twin. If it's a pure tube-frame then I don't care. I demand answers!

Very quick, and congrats to them. Still have a way to go though to be as fast as the domestics. After all, this is obviously a Dodge Charger. :D

Nice so that's the fastest 86 NA, curious to see whats the fastest 86 w/ fa20 motor but forced induction for a supercharger and a turbocharger, and lastly fa20 w/ boost again but built internals. I'd love to see how much juice people can pull from this engine before swapping.
