I have never been a fan of that look

FoolCyclist 06-27-2012 07:49 AM

Looks bad here. Wait, it looks bad on the lexus too. Just screams trying too hard.

slow_frs 06-27-2012 07:53 AM

judging by the color and the damage id say they picked up the fr-s that got totalled lol

mickey177 06-27-2012 08:26 AM

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that just looks awful. I mean the volume of those pipes are probably bigger than the piston cylinders in the car. Excessive and just not tasteful.

wcbjr 06-27-2012 09:03 AM

Blargh...barf. Car does not need one tip per cylinder.

What are you talking about? 86 tips is definitely the way to go with this car, for obvious reasons.

Don@Accelerated 06-27-2012 09:41 AM

Thats hilarious. They look god awful. To much Sake and fabrication apparently go hand in hand.

Way too much rice

Dadhawk 06-27-2012 12:02 PM

Kudos for the duct-tape repair job though. My Dad always said a race car wasn't a race car until the body had some duct tape on it and at least one part was being held up by parts of a wire clothes hanger.

I vote they use a single tip at each end, and back them up into the bumper just a little. Done!

Dimman 06-27-2012 01:08 PM

I kinda like it...

With properly matched cut outs on the bumper and black ceramic coating I think it would look pretty good.

Tomzilla 06-27-2012 01:17 PM

I actually like stacked tips... but, that's just me.

Koji_Online 06-27-2012 01:23 PM

I can't wait to see the final product!
With it all hanging up correctly & more flush with the bumper I'm sure it will look awesome; looking back at the TOM'S pre-rendered photo from the bodykit thread, this should have a nice fit & finish

RRnold 06-27-2012 01:33 PM

SMH! :barf::barf::barf::barf::barf:

First the GReddy body kit and now Tom's is biting the IS-F exhaust... what's going on in the JDM world.

Koolkiid 06-27-2012 03:31 PM

fr-s

Can you show us a picture of the whole rear end. It's hard to tell if it looks good or not. I think you you should've gone with the LFA exhaust style but that's just me.

Asterisked Accolade 06-27-2012 03:41 PM

I'm not a fan, but i think i need a 10ft distance picture to finalize my opinion.

sdlynx 06-27-2012 03:50 PM

Definitely NOT a fan of this!

FT-86GOD 06-27-2012 04:48 PM

Yuk.. 0/10

Dave-ROR 06-27-2012 04:51 PM

Not a fan at all.. has Tom's done anything worthwhile post SW20 days? Serious question.. could just be that Toyota hasn't done anything worthwhile IMO since the SW20 days until now :P

Motopythons 06-27-2012 04:55 PM

Why the FUK.....

RRnold 06-27-2012 05:29 PM

Add this front end and you can fool the whole world! L-FR-S-F

The Japanese are a strange people. But I love em. You can cross your eyes at it all you want, but 6 years ago we were all laughing at Bosozoku/Zokusha cars and they're everywhere on our shores now. I dig the fact that nothing is off limits over there except stock. It's also pretty awesome how the companies over there are highly comprehensive. I mean, over here we have plenty of companies who do suspension, engine, chassis, but very few of them do aesthetic upgrades as well. Most of the major powerhouse companies in Japan provide a comprehensive product line, allowing them to tailor designs to facilitate wild concepts like this.

I just want dry carbon doors, hood, trunk. Don't need a car, I'll just stack em around my couch and play GT3. :-D

Jason

blacknbean 06-27-2012 06:51 PM

they shouldve left it on the ISF...do not want!

eriktherod 06-27-2012 07:01 PM

I think what tainted this concept for me was the previous IS-F (or do they still do it?) having fake outlets at the bottom parts that weren't even connected to the exhaust. Just ugh, for a car that expensive why should it have to be gaudy too...

GenkiElite 06-27-2012 09:30 PM

4 cylinders=4 tips, right?

TRD do it ;)

RWD_only 06-27-2012 10:34 PM

I like it on the IS-F but it really fails on this car.

civicdrivr 06-28-2012 04:10 PM

I like it, but the car needs another 250hp to really pull it off. I feel the same about regular quad tips (Im looking at you, TRD).

Nafe 06-30-2012 08:51 AM

Can't decide.... Don't hate, don't love. Need to see a finished product. I think it could work, maybe,
I was discussion something similar with my brother a week or so ago

yuli8466 06-30-2012 10:58 AM

Looks like ABT of Audi/VW, but i will not prefer as it is just a 2.0L NA car.

EZWood 06-30-2012 06:40 PM

I would like to see an exhaust/diffuser combo to look like an lfa rear end.

Neziah 08-06-2012 12:43 PM

Looks a lot better from a distance and finished.

Kochinopride 08-06-2012 12:52 PM

how much for the exhaust and bumper?

ST185RC 08-06-2012 01:00 PM

Japan is and always will be the land where limitless imagination and tentacle porn that will make their way to conservative North America. I love Japan. Gundams anyone?

SillySaxon 09-08-2013 01:48 AM

I think if they curved with the bumper insert they would be a lot sexier
