Any recommended Ebay sellers for CF duckbills?
I've done some searching around here and it seems like most people have had good experiences with buying duckbill spoilers from ebay. So I was wondering if anyone here could point me a seller they've purchased from before.
I know modbargains has a decent sale on theirs right now, but it still comes out to nearly $300 after shipping :\ and also isnt a guaranteed perfect fit anyway. |

But see sometimes it pays to buy ebay ones because they are more then likely getting the same part as someone else(bigger brand) off of alibaba or something, and jacking the price up not as high as the bigger brand.

For example.. Hey cusco does this look familiar?

ya thats true too. You'd hope the parts that cost a premium would be perfect. Definitely looks slick when it fits though

This whole don't buy off of ebay thing is a load of garbage sometimes. I bought a painted trd spoiler rep, the paint was spot on match, and the fitment was damn near awesome. Saved myself about $500 doing it that way.

If I was more motivated, and afternoon of prep could fix it up, but I'm too lazy for that. I do agree though, that there is a lot of hate for no reason. Kind of like the cheap coil over argument. |
I bought a trd rep spoiler from an eBay seller. Being in SoCal I picked it up locally for $45 fitment is spot on just haven't painted it for install

I get their side but I'm all for eBay parts. No way am I paying $120 for a coolant cap or oil cap just because it's genuine. It's all cosmetic. |

Anyways, as for this topic.. I hope someone can point me to a ebay seller they've had success with. But so far all the listings look identical to me and they're probably all from the same chinese factory anyway. Will just go for the lowest price as long as seller has 99%+ feedback if no one has a suggestion in the next week or so. |
I'm roughly 99% sure all of them, including the vendors, come from the same place in China.
With that in mind, I bought one of the carbon fiber duckbill spoilers last summer and the fitment was terrible. The polyurethane/plastic ones are OK; I have those on my car now. The CF one had huge gaps to the trunk upper surface. |

Hopefully you can find one that fits well or requires little work to make it fit well, since I'm in the market for one also. |
Mine's not as aggressive as the ModBargains one, I have the TRD rep in CF, but the fitment is sub-par. It's a definite 5 footer piece. Middle sits flush, edges are a bit too high (few mm). and the bottom basically has a 1/8th inch gap all the way around, but man, I do love it.

This is my ebay purchase - TRD Rep, Painted. Color is spot on. Zero fitment issues. This is when ebay goes right. I believe the seller was OEMDirect. $170ish for a painted, perfect fit. Ill take that any day.

Maybe I'll grab this and put a carbon wrap on it.. hmm |
Somebody, PLEASE.
Duck bill = mouth Duck TAIL = rear Which sounds more like a spoiler to you? |
Just ordered a TRD replica on eBay from oemdirect also, prepainted ultramarine/galaxy blue. I had good luck on an eBay spoiler on another car, fingers crossed for this one. Pretty cheap if it doesn't turn out well. Couldn't seem to find an actual TRD prepainted my color, and wanted to save the money. Hopefully I'll be happy like BDotG.

2. The slope is also less aggressive, more like a duck's mouth than a duck's tail. 3. Who cares? |
you're fighting decades of people calling them duckbills, wrong hill to die on

Ikon motorsports is a vendor on here and they sell painted versions. They are also on ebay. |
Ikon I have had good luck with, plus they have good customer service. ModBargain? Be carefull terrible product at twice the price and they will hide behind we told you it might need adjusting but they never told you how much adjusting. Ikon is the way to go, and save yourself some money.

I have the modbargains one on my car, and fitment wasn't perfect-I did sand some of it.
And if fitment is way off, they can be returned. And Hell, theres been a few now that get installed at the shop and they literally bolted right on, with zero fitment issues. |
