Accessories that I have added on my BRZ

Let's start a thread about what you have add after you got your FRS/BRZ

1. Shark Fin style Antenna ($90, order online)
2. Chrome Fender Trim ($77, order online)
3. Auto Dimming Mirror with HomeLink ($187, order online)
4. Polished Plate Frame ($27, order online)
5. Front & Rear Mud Guard ($50, order at Country Hills Toyota) Subaru so cheap that doesn't comes with it
6. All LED light bulbs inside car and license plate light (~$30, order at DealExtreme)

Pending:
1. Weather Tech all weather mat (not available yet for FRS/BRZ)
2. Winter tires 17"
3. Summer tires & Rim 18"
4. Backup camera kit (dealership is checking to see if compatible with new Pioneer deck)

Hey -

I have dome + trunk + license LEDs too! Grabbing reverse lights today.

I'm interested in the mud flapps too... how was the install? Easy?

Any chance you could post a link or two to some of those parts you ordered? I want to buy almost everything on your list.

The mud flapps are very easy and I think good price too for $50 all 4.
Anyway for installing each corning is 3 screws (included) and for tool you will only need a + shape screwdriver, that is it.

awesome thanks for the photos. I have a white one too. I think I found most of the parts on:

https://www.subaruonlineparts.com/in...?cPath=160_169

Where did you buy the sharkfin?

The BRZ lights are only $500 each! wow.

cmspooner 06-27-2012 11:26 AM

I keep going back and forth on the chrome fender trim. I like it, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. I think I'm going to do JDM side markers first and see how it looks at that point. Would you mind taking a front 3/4 and side pics of your BRZ to see the whole effect of your mods?

It's strange that those come standard on the FR-S (in Canada) but not on the BRZ. Oh well, at least they're not charging too much for the set.

Heero 06-27-2012 12:22 PM

Could you post the part number of the mud guards pls :)

I will take a picture later today and post. The car is at shop for 3M now.

For the sharkfin

http://www.beatsonicusa.com/

And all other accessories are from above website. As I have mentioned before, when order from them shipped with UPS, just prepare to pay brokage fee when cross border.

FYI, that's only the fixture, none of the wiring, ballasts, etc. I had an exchange a couple of weeks ago that they were looking at putting together an entire kit for them, but they hadn't completed it yet.

I heard that the headlights of FRS is slightly different than BRZ, although the shape looks the same. Does it mean the part is only replacement of original BRZ but not conversion of FRS to BRZ?

Exhaust tips from CT until I bother with exhaust. Debadge FRS, already have mudflaps.

Need plate cover, didn't want a dealer one or anything with writing.

Gonna get HID projector kit (300) and LED interior light kit. Might tackle the center console and change the clock/airbag/HVAC controls all to red.

How hard was installing the homelink mirror (mainly getting ignition power)?

Nice color and I'm thinking debadge the BRZ too.
Home link mirror is pretty easy for install if you have small hands, because the plug in the roof has short wire and my hands just a bit too big. I think they try to hide it.
If you order online, make sure order the adaptor as well, it is $10 only but you can't install your mirror without it. However if you order from dealership it comes with it.

The shape really is the same, but on the BRZ the inboard corner goes behind the bumper cover and not so on the FR-S. There are photos confirming that on here somewhere.

These parts listed though do not include bulbs, ballasts, potentially wiring harnesses if needed, etc. That was really my point. So, yes this is what you would order if you busted the clear lens on your BRZ and need to replace it, pulling the parts out of your existing headlight. You could install these in your FR-S but you would need all the other parts to make them functional.

Yep just pulled the trigger and ordered the homelink/adapter from the same site.

Also bought the FR-S Hid projector kit since it's 25% off till the end of the month. See this thread.

Coupon code is about half-way down. I went with the 5000K package.

Yeah.. both cars have some odd choices.

Do you want a trunk liner or mud flaps? You can't have both! lol.

Good point. But in my city, Calgary, I will choose mud flaps since we have ugly weather most of the time :laughabove:

And I would wrap my cars in Matt Black if I have that kind of money.

Heero 06-27-2012 06:45 PM

Quick question - are the mud guards specific to the FRS?

I called my local subaru and toyota dealer and neither had a clue about the mud guards.

Part numbers anyone?

Damn...I guess I'll just check my local auto store for similar tips as I don't live in Canada. At least I know that I'm looking for a 4 inch exit diameter.

Khyron686 06-28-2012 12:14 AM

Yah don't go bigger. 2.25 inlet is perfect. 3.38 is JDM size (86mm)

Is the auto-dimming mirror a Subaru part? Where did you order from. Was it easy to install? Will it fit on an FR-S?

Thanks!

It is Subaru parts. You can order it online or at dealership, quite easy to install.
Not sure if it fit FRS or not, the mount should be same between two cars.

percyng: Nice that you got a few mods going. Keep us posted as to how the backup camera kit goes.

For those who are interested in interior and exterior LEDs for your FR-S/BRZ, feel welcome to PM. We have an established business and customer base in British Columbia, Canada. We also have customers from Alberta that come out to Vancouver on long weekends to purchase HIDs and LEDs from us. Since we are located in Western Canada, shipping will be quick and we are also available in the Vancouver/Burnaby/Richmond area.
Thanks in advance.

Last time I checked with Subaru dealership was yesterday, so far they only got an email from Subaru Canada saying that such kind of backup camera does exist and will fit for their Pioneer deck year model 2012 and after.
But they don't have the parts number to order from their system yet.
