Next Gen 86 Hints?

I was studying the latest concept designs for the next-gen Impreza, and I'm starting to see design hints as to what the next 86 will evolve into. Most noticeably the front facia, the roofline, and taillights. Am I reading too much into this? Obviously this is a 4-door design but the sloped roofline suggests a coupe. Hmm..

Well, Toyota worked on the current design, so I doubt Subaru would design the next-gen FT86.

I don't think the 86 will have these features. And if they did, it'd be a step backwards IMO

I wish to come back and read this once it has grown a little yet I have nothing to contribute so  :D

FYI impreza isn't a wrx. No interest.
Face lift is due for the 86, and they won't even tease it until allocations at dealers have reached a satisfactory level for the older model.
Concept is just a concept. 3-4-5++ years down the road.
86 is a joint venture. And with how good subaru is doing(highest sales in company history), I doubt they will make another together.

You should really visit http://www.motoring.com.au/

Gotta get that post count up somehow. And what better way than to be the first one to post and contribute absolutely nothing to the thread lol

Well since I am already here, That car makes me think Ford?

xFury 12-11-2015 06:28 PM

The 86 is a Toyota thing, so Subie won't be making those concept :p maybe a little input and thats bout it.

Plus its hard to tell. Most concept never look like the final product.

strat61caster 12-11-2015 06:38 PM

Hey Sherlock, shouldn't you be using those supernatural deduction skills to solve crimes rather than predict what a car might look like if it ever gets made?

The most you can do to learn about what the next gen 86 subaru wise is to look at what's being done to the FA20 by Subaru, any power upgrades if any will most likely come from there R&D

Looks like a Prius from the back and a Ford Focus from the front

I respectfully disagree with the Prius rear, but kind of agree with the Ford front (not necessarily Focus).

yelsew 12-11-2015 07:32 PM

I actually get sort of a Nissan Altima vibe off the rear end. The front for me says Subaru but with some kind of weird, weak-looking headlights.

BFIFE22 12-11-2015 07:59 PM

Hopefully not. All I see is Hyundai Elantra in the front, and the rear screams new civic to me

Subaru input is "No convertible because it'll make the car heavy and Toyota wants it".

Additional input "Don't increase horsepower otherwise then it'll cannibalize Impreza/WRX sales".
