Back Up Camera - Reverse Wire broken what to do??
 

Guys, I need a wire with a female pin connector end... mine broke. I can't find it on ebay... what shall I do?


I removed the head unit,
I am trying to get a wire for my reverse to get the rear camera picture displayed when I go in reverse
I can't get the female pin connector inside the pin connector that is wired into my car.

Can someone tell me the name of this wire lol... I broke mine

Umm, that is crimp connector. Wire should be crimped, not simply pushed in. Photo is showing it inserted correctly, it just needs to be crimped using special pliers (of course you can use bit of solder and normal pliers). Add a bit of solder, then crimp with normal pliers and then heat it up again, so solder would re-flow. :thumbsup: Just be careful not to overdo it with solder as it might block connector.

I don't know the name of the things... but I did not explain correctly.

My wire came with a back up camera kit. Do not refer to the image, this is a image i searched for......

I want to connect the wire with that female pin to my pin connector in the car... it does not go in

I had the green wire (NOW it is broken) so I need a new wire like that!!!! HELP :(

Verify that you have the Type 'A' harness. That is the same one I had from the factory.

I just installed a backup camera kit. It didn't come with the correct pin (Aftermarket Type 'B'). So, a similar issue.

The one that you want for the OEM harness is available on AutoHarnessHouse. They have crimped connectors for the OEM harness. You just need to splice the wire back down to the reverse wire behind the kick panel.

Make sure you pick the OEM style one for Type A and Aftermarket Style for Type B. It seemed to work for me. Oh, and make sure you lift that latch before sticking the pin in. It won't fit in otherwise.

So Shell type A and B are different, and I need the A? Just to confirm =p
And if I buy the one from autoharness, I must use the pin extraction tool before pushing it in the 28-pin connector to be able to clip it on?

Shell A is for OEM. Shell B is aftermarket.

You probably need the pin type for A. If you take a picture, we can compare.

Is the pin stuck in there? You shouldn't need the pin extraction tool unless you have the B type harness, even so, I think that a small jeweler's screwdriver will take care of it pretty easily.

That's the Aftermarket 'B' type pin. Can you take a picture of the shell itself?

Shell A is OEM Style. So order the OEM Pin from Auto Harness House. It's surprising that you had an Aftermarket Pin that is supposed to only fit in Shell B crammed into the Shell A.'

So, yeah. You have Shell A. Order OEM Pin. Splice and run it to the reverse signal and you should be good to go. Don't forget to lift the latch before inserting. Mine went in pretty easily even though I bent the plastic a little.

Yeah xD! I ordered the OEM Style. I didn't even know there was a difference until you mentioned it! In my car I have shell A. I received in the rear camera kit a shell B.
I received aftermarket pin that's why it wasn't going in I guess.

Now waiting for my order, when I get it.. I'll have to poke something sharp inside the pin to open the latch or do I open the latch of the shell?

Same exact thing happened to me. Got a Type B pin for my Type A shell...

Just open the latch shell, just use a small screwdriver. It only pops up a little bit, so don't force it. It should click slightly when you pop up both sides. Since you've already extracted the pin, there shouldn't be a need to poke something sharp for the release.
