Scion Partners With STAMPD

So gangster man...this is what we all about, tats, looking like were from a gang, some subjective clothing and dope beats....YE YOO! POW POW! Next time i bet they will have some half naked chicks and guns and the guy will be blowing up smoke and throwing hundred dolla BILLZ! SCION YO!

Check out the video here :)

http://www.carscoops.com/2015/11/sci...-ahead-of.html

Clipdat 11-17-2015 02:11 PM

This is the reason why I purchased the Scion version instead of the Subaru. I'm all about that subjective clothing and dope beats. YE YOO POW POW, indeed.

In all seriousness this is great motivation for me to get my black Toyota badges on the car and get rid of the Scion ones...

Tcoat 11-17-2015 02:21 PM

Had to look up what the hell "StampD" was.
The hellaflush crowd will love this!

On an unrelated note:
For Sale. 2014 Lava FRS. Make me an offer. Soon!

Isn't putting Toyota badges on just equally silly? Reminds me of those Integra with red Honda badges and Civics with red Acura badges..

Clipdat 11-17-2015 02:29 PM

I'm not trying to change the car into a GT86 by removing all instances of Scion everywhere - for example I don't give a fuck about the steering wheel.

I just think the black Toyota badges will look better than the silver Scion ones as well as distance me from all the ridiculous marketing bullshit Scion insists on doing for their cars in an attempt to attract a young demographic.

That's it. I'm selling my FR-S for a BRZ. Not going to be associated with all these totes cray cray peeps with their baes and brahs and whatever.

Sounds like rice to me...

Clipdat 11-17-2015 02:36 PM

Really? I guess you don't know me or my functional build. This is literally my third cosmetic mod with the others being a Perrin shorty antenna and JDM clear sidemarkers.

But OEM flat black Toyota badges are a race inspired cosmetic enhancement?

Feel like they should have just designed a more modern car than trying to modernize/bring excitement a more boring design..

Also that advertisement really wasn't that bad

I always wondered when people kept talking about the Scion marketing because around here it is all aimed at the young couple sort of hipster crowd. Then one day I came across the marketing videos for California and thought "OH SHIT I would be rebadging too".

02.ACCORD.DUDE 11-17-2015 02:54 PM

What the hell is a STAMPD...? Sounds like a STD...

And is it going to change the fact that people still have no idea what a Scion is around here?

Excuse me I mean "Sky-On" or is it "Sci-Ion"?

imho yes

link to your 'functional build'? Legitimately intersted, not poking fun or anything.

Here's mine, I'm lagging on an update and might not for a good while as I setup for STX, can't give away 'dem secrets.

Clipdat 11-17-2015 03:00 PM

I don't have a build thread on here but you can PM me for a mod list if you really want.

Actually watched the video, holy shit how much cheaper could these cars be if they didn't waste so much money on marketing?

It's not even effective.

Agreed. All if not most of consumers are not brain dead and clueless when it comes to buying cars. I could care less about some stupid & non-sense commercials. I don't care if it's a Kia, Scion or Hyundai. Give me a good quality product within my budget that speaks for itself.

8R6 11-17-2015 03:30 PM

no way that guy looks like he's from a gang. LOL. and that bootleg ass "LA" tat near his eye... ROFL

02.ACCORD.DUDE 11-17-2015 03:32 PM

At 0:08 is the guy wearing no socks?

If so I change my mind. I'm sold.

maybebrz 11-17-2015 03:49 PM

I'm young. This crap pushes me away. I think tattoos are super lame.

mkivalex 11-17-2015 03:53 PM

What a stupid ad

fang_gt86 11-17-2015 04:01 PM

I can tolerate this one because of James Franco lol..

Did someone say Mushroom Stamp?

Justin.b 11-17-2015 04:44 PM

Does anyone ever actually consult the 'young demographic' they seek, or do they just consult self-declared experts on that demographic?

It seems to me that young people with hand, face and neck tattoos are not going to be shopping for Scion hatchbacks. I assume they want buyers who pass a credit check and have steady employment, so they may want to focus on younger people with tattoos that would be covered by a collared shirt.

Mr.Impreza 11-17-2015 04:57 PM

You know who the guy reminds me of in the video actually....

This one famous guy who took delivery of a scion recently...=O

Wait! What? You mean I went out and got these hand, face and neck tattoos and plugs in my ears and nose to fit in with all you young guys and now you are saying it is not cool. Shit.

I'm flattered that you lumped me in with the young guys, but I'm a decade or two out of their millennial target audience.

I've never even purchased a concert ticket to hear some dj diddle his ipod.

-Justin

Cole 11-17-2015 06:08 PM

As a young person, with shitty tattoos on my chest and arms and ears that are still a little stretched from plugs, I'm offended by this video.

Wasn't exactly lumping you in with them. Just using you description of "young people".

Clipdat 11-17-2015 06:12 PM

lol you said diddle

Hey civic with Acura badge is stupid but integra with Honda badge? That's not silly, k?

Cuz that's real JDM yo :D Do you know there is no Acura in Japan till this very day?? (It was planned in 2008 but got postponed indefinitely)

That's why all Acura car look like they have downs! Their exterior are all designed in Acura design studio in Cali...>_>

If I have an older NSX I will put Honda badge on it & pay tribute to Honda Soichiro instead of buying into retarded mindset where badge means higher class/luxury shit that GM invented.... Or was it Ford?? 😓

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

what the hell is this shit??

The collection is said to be exclusive to the Scion brand and includes jackets, shirts and pants - pretty much what you'd expect to see from the very fashionable Generation Y consumer - precisely the type of customer Scion is going after.

Chris Stamp, creator and designer of STAMPD said that he wanted to "keep the palette for the collection muted so the clothes complement the cars. The details are understated, but looking closely you can see how intricate each piece is, adding a modern approach to conventional specialist wear.""
NO NO NO NO.

It's been stated before but with the exception of the FRS, I have not seen anyone else my age drive any Scion. Mostly older folk with xb,xd, and tC.

The type of people Scion "is trying to appeal to" is a 7 letter slang term that I cannot say on here without getting banned. In lieu of that, just refer to Justin Beiber as reference.

But.....I did like the Urkel one with the Scion iM. You're telling me Urkel doesn't attract all the cool kids to hop into a Scion. LIES. :D

btw, that lady reminds me of my g-ma. When she found out I bought a new car, she asked if it was a Corvette.

My jaw dropped and wondered how the hell does my late 70 year old grandma know about corvettes?? She never mentioned anything about cars before..

Car culture and women is not new there Steve and the Corvette has been around a long time. Young people forget that the old people were the young people once. There are probably all sorts of things you wouldn't guess about granny (and probably don't want to know).

Yes, yes, I do know that... I probably should stop posting since I'm coming off as one of those ignorant young peeps as I do not mean to be.

Was just extremely surprised is all...

Keep forgetting tone doesn't translate well over text chat.

The only time your posts catch my eye is when you use slang or a reference that stopped being relevant when I was in Middle School.

So, I don't think you're young.
