USA

My friend does not want anything from USA on his GT86.
Please tell me there are at least some parts on twins made in USA...

raven1231 11-11-2015 09:24 AM

Tell your friend he's an idiot. Why the hell does that even matter?

I agree with Raven.
Don't know for sure but highly doubt there is anything made in the USA on it stock. There is a list on here someplace that provided the parts manufacturers for all the major components and I do not recall seeing a USA company listed. Hell, even if they were made in the USA the odds are the parent company is based in another country anyway.

DJCarbine 11-11-2015 10:17 AM

The cars are built in Texas by George Bush, then exported and hand delivered to each country by Obama himself.

Fun Fact : Each car is exported with an anti-terrorism kit, but these are usually seized by the TSA before the car leaves the country. Each kit includes a 1911 pistol, AR15, and a steak. These kits can fetch high dollar amounts outside of the USA due to their rarity, only a few cars slip through security with the kit.

Tell him to buy a hummer! Or put an usa flag sticker when he's not watching Lol... I think your friend is a troll....hahaha

Grab an engraver and start engraving Made in USA on key components. The more expensive the part the better. See how long he keeps his bias then.

jvincent 11-11-2015 10:48 AM

Your friend is an idiot.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are certain bits of the electronics that were designed in the USA. Granted, they were probably manufactured in Taiwan, where most semiconductors are made these days.

I'm Canadian and it's still a good joke.

Michelin has a huge facility in South Carolina. Not sure where those Primacy tires are made, but it's at least possible that's where they come from. Perhaps someone can come along to confirm.

Don't know but would guess either Thailand or China. Shipping costs would be a fraction of bringing them from the US.

Tires which came with my 2015 FRS are made in France by Michelin.

France was made via USA circa WWII.

And Briton, Canada, Russia.
U.S came late to the party (in fairness they had their own surprise party thrown for them in the Pacific)

Hey, there are a lot of Americans on this very forum who hate on everything an American car company makes. Why hate on some poor guy from Europe who hates American made?

This is going way off topic but do those steaming USA poos come packaged to keep them steamy or do you have to microwave them a little to get them to steam?
Just curious as I would like to send out some poos and need them arriving fresh.

Just place them in a bag and light it on fire. Easy breezy

He can't be serious, everyone including manufacturers know businesses rely global economy now and cars use parts manufactured all over the planet.
But if you want to get technical the Torsen Limited slip diff was designed and originally build by an American, everything else in the car seems to be made in Japan or Taiwan, the design team and engineering team also probably had an American.

I can see it now, this thread is going to untangle itself and people are going to make some poor judgement in the comments everyone has stereotypes about some country there's no reason to perpetuate them on the forum.....

Ultramaroon 11-12-2015 01:22 AM

The torque dip is made in the USA.

I am not sure if "designed in USA" will be enough, but I have iPhone so you have my vote :-) Thanks for helpful comment.

No offense, but in terms of losing market share, the English, German, and Italian auto manufacturers have more to fear from Japan and Korea than from Eastern Europe.

For American cars, I'd rather have (not in order):
