I was on ebay and saw my car picture being used on ebay !?!?!?! Wtf? http://m.ebay.com/itm/Fit-For-2013-2....c100408.m2460

I called ebay and they said they can't do cap about it so pissed! !

Have you tried to contact the seller about it?

all those replica vendors use pictures they find online for their products. often times they don't even show their actual product in use. replica dealers using authentic pictures to show great fitment.

lol, happened to my Yaris. Some seller was trying to use my picture of my Yaris "showing" their "universal lip kit." I contacted the seller, saying that A) I gave them no right to use my picture and gave no authority to get rid of my water mark, B) it wasn't even the same product as I bought it from Home Depot in person, and C) give me royalties from the 50 sold or take down my picture.

They changed the picture to someone else car within two hours. LOL

Oh, come on. You have to admit that's some funny shit.

Yeah, I was looking for something subtle, and the Yaris sedan didn't have much to choose from. Everything looked, ummm, too rice for me. The garage door liner was simple enough to where it looked factory.

I wanted to add garage door liner too but.. the 3m doesn't even stick to the liner..

It does not. I used both 3M tape, and drilled into the factory lip every 3 to 4 inches using self tapping screws and washers. Held up for years, even when scraped along driveways and speed bumps. Lol

Yeah, I can't imagine it looking good on the FR-S. There are only a couple lip kits that I actually like for the FR-S.

There is nothing you can do unfortunately. I went through this in the past with another car. It sucks that they were using my pictures but ebay was useless. I tried contacting the seller and they did nothing.

I plan on slapping some almost naked anime girls on my car, no one will want to steal the pictures once that happens.

I agree. If it was mine I would be more like "Hey look somebody likes my car enough to use it for advertising". To make build your car up enough that it stands out from the crowd and then complain when it shows up seems counterintuitive to me.

Kinda surprised no one has asked this yet or maybe I'm missing something, but how do you know for sure it is your car?

The sad part is that I am pretty sure I would have recognized the car from the ad. May have taken some time to remember exactly who it belonged to though.

The internet is a weird place so as a fair warning this idea of yours might backfire completely and result in a 300% increase of the number of people stealing pictures of your car. :bellyroll:

yup, this. I've had several on ebay do this to me.

One of them replied back to an email I sent them, they said, "could you please send us the original so we can verify the image is yours?".

WTF.

Materials posted on a public forum end up used. The way of the world. I use pics all the time that were taken by somebody. If you don't want stuff "borrowed" don't post it to the internet.
