help me with colors
hello guys im 22 and about to buy frs soon ( 2014-2015 used )
problem is im having hard time which color I should go for I honestly like the whiteout(halo) best but I don't want my car to be the same color that every people already had I kinda wanna be unique and be in center of attention whenever I'm driving on the road ( yes, im attention seeker lol ) color would be either one of these three: argento, hot lava and ultramarine please help me decide :) |
If you're not going to mod it, Hot Lava is definitely your best bet if you wanna be a shining star.
I totally get what you mean though; Whiteout is my favourite color but it feels like everyone with a nicer car has it white. |
I feel hot lava will be the color that will grab most attention. That & firestorm just because they're bright colors. But I think hot lava is more rare than firestorm? Not sure, but from what I've seen around, it is. lol

Hot Lava. Ultramarine is a nice color, but doesn't really stand out. Argento stands out about as much as camouflage in the forest. If you can find a used Release Series car, that yellow will get people's heads turning.

There were other choices?
Look at the cars in the background. White, grey and black everywhere. |
The only thing that is rarer and stands out more than Hot Lava is the Yellow.
This one is in Port Richey FL and is the cheapest on Autotrader in the SE. http://images.autotrader.com/scaler/...32d8e88d8f.jpg I have no affiliation. I just did a quick Autotrader search. |
Red or yellow. Then add a huge pic of a cock on the hood, sides, and rear window.

Red, Hot Lava or Yellow looks great on small sports cars. White looks great on bigger cars like my A7 in Ibis White... Not so much on a smaller car. IMHO.
|
If you're purchasing a previously owned vehicle, you'd do better to consider more than one specific color.
Be willing to travel. Don't spend more than you should, and don't overlook a car that may be in better condition, lower mileage with lower price for the sake of "that color". Just one man's opinion. |

I like the yellow FR-S and the hyper blue BRZ. Get one of those. Get both.

Obligatory statement: It is your car, pick the color that you want.
Might as well throw in a vote for Ultramarine. It is probably not the color your looking for if you want to stand out but I love dark blue cars. |
While I like Hot Lava now, to me it looks like a fad color that will be out of date in a few years. Kinda like British Racing Green or that metalflake brown from back in the 80s that you never see any more.
Lightning Red / Firestorm will never go out of style. And there aren't that many of them, because most people find red cars too flashy. The only color on these cars that catches the eye more than red is the yellow on the RS. I've seen two in traffic, and both times there was a sort of gap around them like people give unusual classic cars. |

To answer the OP's question though, I'd go Hot Lava and avoid Ultramarine if you're looking to stand out. Ultramarine isn't a bad color but it doesn't pop, personally I avoided it because it was too close of a shade to my old Accord  |
I personally picked whiteout because white is by far my favorite colour for cars. If you're in North America and really want a poppy, "look at me," colour get a rs1.0. That yellow on that car has seriously grown on me and is the only other color I would consider for this car. Not to mention there are only 1500 of those cars made in North America. Rare? :iono: Either that or a bright orange, not the hot lava orange, but a much brighter orange. Dark grey looks pretty good on these cars as well. But white is my personal favorite and receives the MisterSheep stamp of approval.

Some not so great though (like my Daughter-in-law's new car) http://resources.carsguide.com.au/dp...Mulberry-W.jpg |
Lava is eye popping, but I am just such a fan of red on this car.

I really like the yellow in pictures but in real life it is just kind of meh. It is just sort of there with no real pop to it. I like the hyper in pics but will reserve full judgment until I see one in person (if that ever even happens around here) |

I've seen all 3 in person. All 3 are bright...er than other color options. But lets face it, it's subie painting it. Due to crappy quality paint, it's not that bright. |

LOL ok so here's my thing: GET WHAT YOU WANT! Here's how I looked at colours and made up my mind before choosing: Blue: Subaru's everywhere have it. I like colour but I cant look at it for too long. Gets tiring. Also, annoys me... no idea why? Red: Looks too much like a female car and it gets tiring to stare at. It stands out too much. My self esteem couldnt handle all the attention. Lava: If whiteout was not available i'd go lava. It has a distinctive look and glare that makes it beautiful. I used to hate lava but now cant get tired of it. Beautiful colour! Black: Hard to keep clean or look clean because it always seems dirty. I live in dusty area and that would make it worse. Also, too many black cars who are wannabe racers here i'd probably get throw in with them if they get pulled over. Grey/argento etc..: Colour is similar to black in my eyes. I don't like the colour mostly because it makes me think of cheap plastic. I decided against this colour because of that. I know. Lame. Halo: I dig it, but it has a distinctive shine of blue to it that my eye didnt seem to enjoy. Whiteout: The pearl colour was my main reason for choosing it. I always liked pearl. Makes anything look fancy. Ugly bmw? No problem, paint it pearl. Ugly wife? Pearl it is! Banana: I dont like looking like Donkey Kong lol I like to look at them but not for me for DD. I also chose white because I've owned over 5 other white cars. It's just in my taste. I feel fancy with white. It completes me. I've seen over 4 whites or 5 in total and wouldnt care if every car I see is white. BTW most cars in the world are white...lol Mostly Blue twins in my part of the state nowadays though. Personally I see more red, blue and black than any other colours. Make yours stand out by giving it a good wax and polish. Guaranteed it'll stand out. |

Left is purple, middle is yellow, right is red.
Hope that is enough help for you to learn colors now |

Yeah... currently Subaru side is missing one color, so why not, correction. If they bring it in and I trade in my car, I'll be in more debt again... O'well YOLO lol |
White was my 1st choice but since a buddy picked up a white BRZthat option was done. I wanted a light color car since it can hide the dirt better but silver (to common around here ) was out for me. Ended up finding a series 10. It's silver but when placed next to a silver FR-S you can see the difference.
