Is this a good deal at the dealership? Opinions pls

2014 Subaru BRZ Limited Auto (Gray) w/ 33 Miles. No owner yet.

It's at the Subaru dealership and I am planning to buy it this Friday.

benrz 09-24-2015 01:23 AM

Hmm it is basically brand new; 25.1k for an automatic limited is a pretty damn good deal, considering auto costs a bit above $1k over the manual option.

Will this be the out the door price, after TTL is applied?

Out the door price and final price.

It's also a 2014 though. I wonder why wasn't this 2014 BRZ ever sold.

Are you going to change your username after purchase?

As of the price I feel like it could be lower but meh it ain't bad for otd try to get extras with that deal to make it even more worth it

iwantafrs 09-24-2015 01:46 AM

The car at the dealer,

xuimod 09-24-2015 02:04 AM

That's a good deal. Wonder how long that car has been sitting out in the sun though.

Good luck with the car.

SuperDave 09-24-2015 02:08 AM

must've been damaged in transport or something

Mr.ac 09-24-2015 02:17 AM

Its automatic, do you want a sports car with an automatic?

My local dealer for an auto their price was about mid $24k
For that price, assuming you want an automatic, and the new 2016 coming out tell him to knock down a grand.

I picked up my 2013 FRS 6spd with 40k miles for $20k otd including tax title and license. 0 down 325 a month for 5 years with 5% interest. Apparently I got a killer deal.

5% interest on a used car with 40k miles is not a killer deal. not trying to insult you. just letting you know you can and should get a better rate if possible.

Alltezza 09-24-2015 05:53 AM

Buy a manual

Credit issues is why it's 5%. After a little bit I'm going through my credit union to lower it. This actually the first car I've ever bought from a dealership

Tcoat 09-24-2015 06:48 AM

That is a good deal and I would scoop it fast. Doesn't matter why it is discounted since it has full warranty anyway. They probably just want it gone.

I do love the "wonder how long it has been sitting out in the sun" question that Xiu asked. Probably as long as 98% of all the other 14s. It is a car it isn't going to mutate or get cancer from the sun.

The car is a Transformer. Heard they get uncomfortable from sitting in the sun all day long.

Yeah they get hot like the rest of us, especially asphalt and raven. Poor guy is probably all burnt and wrinkly now :(

My dad also likes the car, so he doesn't mind if I buy it. He said that the wrx is too loud inside and out. Furthermore, he also doesn't like the scoop in the front, lol. But i explained to him the details. The wrx also cost more and is more expensive to insure

Tekno Virus 09-24-2015 08:56 AM

If it's non-moving inventory, they are constantly losing money on the car. If that's the case, you should bargain for much less and keep coming back as many times as you have to.

Mr.ac 09-24-2015 09:01 AM

Well hate to brake it to you but the insurance is going to be about the same as the wrx. If not more.

Good point and good advice, unless you put a value on your time, in which case the price offered is fair.

iwantafrs 09-24-2015 09:09 AM

The truth is, the sticker price was listed for $24900. We exchanged words and got it to $23k. Ill see what I can do on Friday

iwantafrs 09-24-2015 10:18 AM

Questions, do all new cars have 0 records for the car until someone buys/owns it? @SuperDave got me worried because he said might have been damaged or something.

"AutoCheck Record Summary: AutoCheck has located 0 records for this vehicle in the National Vehicle Database. "

Yes the record starts with the first owner. Don't worry about damage or such since some people just always want to find something negative about everything.
No mystery here, they have a 2 year old new car on the lot and they want to move it. End of story.

This. You are getting a very good deal. Buy it if you like the car. If you haggle more on a good deal, there is the possibility of the dealer getting upset which might make things difficult.

spicyricecake 09-24-2015 12:13 PM

man I would have jumped at this deal if it was white or blue brz. if you don't care about the new features on the new models, then this is a great deal

I suggest keeping the same username, but making a custom user title of "but I got a brz."

ask them why it's so cheap, i had a scion dealership divulge to me why they had a car on the lot for so long, it was because the part by the door was crushed getting off of the truck bed or going over a curve, so they had it repaired but they had to tell each interested party about it.

happens more than you think

Speed2th 09-25-2015 05:41 AM

it is cheap because the car is 2014 and now some dealer already have 2016 model in the lot. I think it is a very good deal because not much difference between different years.

iwantafrs 09-25-2015 05:47 PM

Is it possible to lease this car for 3 years and return it after?

iwantafrs 09-25-2015 06:12 PM

I went there today but he was busy and I had a doctors appointment.

I found out that there was rust on bottom of the car because its been sitting there for so long I guess
And a couple of scratch marks, but I haven't had time to tell the salesman yet.

Should be. I'm not sure if you can lease that particular car. Scion might tell you to lease another car.

That's pretty pricey for an frs. Got 13 brz limited 10k miles for 21k out the door. Made em throw in new tires too. What was the asking price for it?
