Congrat. Looks good! Would look even better in flat black.

rikdrt1 06-27-2012 12:49 AM

i wish you can take another picture from the back -- but at almost ground level to see the tread/footprint on those cool tires !

looks nice !

detainu 06-27-2012 04:15 AM

Ok, i'll take one tomorrow for ya

OrbitalEllipses 06-27-2012 04:16 AM

Wanted them until "Manufactured in China." Personal preference; good-looking wheels nonetheless.

detainu 06-27-2012 04:20 AM

Thanks, I was just trying to keep the weight down and change it from stock

MarkMash 06-27-2012 10:18 AM

Great shots! - looking at getting some Enkei's myself - wondering is your suspension stock??

Cheers! congrats - still waiting for mine :P

detainu 06-27-2012 01:10 PM

Ya, it's still stock. Waiting for Eibach to finish up springs to drop it down

Phaedrus29 06-27-2012 10:00 PM

Those look great. Do the 225/45's fit without issues? I'm not sure whether to go with this size or 225/40 or maybe a 235.

detainu 06-28-2012 12:04 AM

Hey thanks. I mis-spoke in an earlier message, they are actually 225/40/18

Asterisked Accolade 06-28-2012 01:03 AM

Those look very good-- i think they make the car look even more expensive. They remind me a bit of Dodge Viper Wheels:
http://media.onsugar.com/files/2011/...3_1024x768.jpg
Only the Viper has fewer/larger spokes.

jimbobrand 06-28-2012 09:58 AM

The car looks good and those are the same wheels I was planning on getting before I got some Gram Lights for a killer deal.

MarkMash 06-28-2012 10:35 AM

Not sure how much anyone knows about wheel dimension, but you couldn't just get those same specs in a different brand wheel for eg. the WORK CR kiwami in the same 'spec numbers' because it's a different design correct? I'm wanting to get these or the Enkei PF01's but want to make sure it's the same fitment as this car - TOUGH AS!!! haha

It would just depend on the sizes and offsets offered in the style and brand of wheel you're looking at.

to darrendriven:
I just bought the exact same tire wheel combo, except i have toyo proxes 4 not the plus version. I am noticing that the car is a lot less responsive than the stock tire wheel combo from the factory. Are you noticing this? Also when you turn the wheel back and forth at lower speeds the vsc kicks on. Any ideas?

detainu 07-16-2012 12:42 AM

A couple more, now lowered

That's the Eibach Pro-kit. It's a 1 inch drop

Camotec 07-16-2012 04:06 AM

Looking very nice. I am getting this package for my Silver 86 (Aussie), However I am going for the Matte Black versions. excellent choice. it has an almost OEM appearance love it!!

MarkMash 07-16-2012 02:00 PM

thanks again for posting - how do you find the ride comfort?? changed much from the stock suspension? I wonder because the roads around here aren't the best at all... in fact, they're horrible. Makes me a bit hesitant to change it.

JohnATL 07-16-2012 02:06 PM

These are the ones I have my eye on. I think they'll look good in black on a whiteout.

DarrenDriven 07-24-2012 04:53 PM

Another FR-S with these wheels, posted by @thebear21 in this topic.

Very nice, a good alternative to the BBS CH-r which cost a lot more. I was thinking of running the +35.

Two seconds on Google Images. :)

Looks like the spokes are slightly convex and the center is slightly concave.

My new shoes! Wrapped with Falken ZE912 225/40/18. Still on stock suspension but I have my stock wheels in the trunk so it looks lowered a bit lol. Looking to drop it with Eibachs or RCE yellows soon. Sorry for the bad quality picture - taken on my iPhone and it was really sunny out.

Attachment 42533

Also, I noticed this when I got home but the guys who mounted the tires on the wheels did some pretty bad damage...the shop I bought them from has agreed to have it refinished next week :(

Tight looking! After you dropped the 1", did you notice any harsh ridding and extra bumpy on the hwy? How about the cornering/drifting characteristics compare to stock? Thanks!

Techfl3x 07-03-2013 12:10 AM

Looks good thanks for sharing! I have set of gun metals on order. 8.5 front 9.5 rear

Did you consider other tires before the Falkens? I'm still undecided. And what lugs do you have on there?

Thanks! They just refinished my wheel yesterday so hopefully I'll get some more decent pics this weekend.

I'm not going to be tracking or anything so I just went with the best bang for the buck. I have Rays in bronze on there. I was originally planning to use a set of Muteki SR35 in black but my shop told me the day I was installing my wheels that they didn't have it in stock. I'm still considering switching to a set of black lugs though.

DarrenDriven 07-10-2013 06:54 PM

Merged a topic by @canuckbrz - same wheels w/ same specs

How you received your wheels yet? how are the 8.5front and 9.5 rears for clearane with the suspension? are you on stock suspension?

Thanks! :D
