Psht! You know there are only 7 digits allowed in a California plate. You gotta do better than that!

I saw that one coming but no, the state would not allow it.

Here is a hint. I copied a movie license plate. I was surprised it was available. The famous vehicle that wore the plate was much faster than an frs. At least in a straight line. However another vehicle was significantly faster in the same movie. That vehicle did not have a plate. Both had bumper stickers.

Your grandmother already took that plate for her drop top Datsun 510.

Don't give it away. I'm stumped but want to see this play out.

Good guess, but is there a faster vehicle in that film?

The film I am talking about is famous for speed, among other things.

Great guess again, but I'm sure its still taken.

The vehicle in question has an American make. Not German or Japanese. There is a German make in the film as well.

Are you implying that I would put a Mustang plate on my FRS? That's insulting! Insulting, I say!

I don't think the authorities would like that one.

No idea what that is from.

EAGLE5 09-06-2015 08:47 PM

OK, you guys need another hint. I'm running out of ideas for hints that won't totally give it away.

The vehicle in question has six wheels.

A fuel supplement is used at one point.

Any last minute guesses? Some of you will be kicking yourselves, especially tcoat.

Ultramaroon 09-07-2015 02:59 PM

Ok, I didn't see the movie but last night, googling for a six-wheeled vehicle pointed me to Red Skull's car. I couldn't find a plate and felt like I was cheating, so...

Am I close?

Nope. I'm sure that one is taken.

EAGLE5 09-07-2015 03:14 PM

The film is a comedy. It came out in the 80s. The vehicle is not exactly aerodynamic.

We have a winner! EAGLE 5 is the plate. Now you have to go through all the hints and see how they fit. :-)

MtPockets, when you visit the sfbay, I will buy you a beer.

Faster than an FR-S: Switching to secret hyperjets!
Faster vehicle: Spaceball 1
It's speed: Ludicrous Speed
It's bumper sticker: WE BRAKE FOR NOBODY
Eagle 5's sticker: I <3 URANUS (which I've ordered off ebay)
Film is famous for speed: Ludicrous speed!
American made: Winnebagos are still made in the US of A
German vehicle: Princess Vespa's Mercedes-Benz 2001 SEL Limited Edition
6-wheels - That model Winnebago has dualies in the back
Fuel additive: Liquid Schwartz!

Ultramaroon 09-07-2015 06:56 PM

Well done.

Crap, I was thinking this movie but did not realize the winnebago had a license plate. Should have looked more into it
