What are you paying ?
Alright so I wanna know what you guys have been paying for your fr-s's . The price of the car and the interest rate if you are financing . It's upto you if you want to mention the dealership you got it from.
Looking for people in Calgary, Alberta . Thanks ! |
MSRP, Freight/PDI - no options, no markups. South Pointe. Not financing.
So just under 29 incl GST. |
Invoice + 4%, freight/pdi/usually levies, admin fee -$100, HST = $623 off MSRP + $1000 grad rebate
Financing @ 2.7% x 36 months Toronto, Ontario |
I am paying about $502/month for a 36 month lease. No money down. If I do like the car after the 36 months are up and I have the money I'll buy it from the dealership.

i got it for cost + 250 + taxes which ends up being just shy of 30K in Ontario
Asphalt 6MT |
Got mine with Bespoke for 28,375 in Edmonton

Wow, looks like I paid the most so far. Damn BC tax.
I paid 300 less then MSRP. With taxes, the AC levy, PDI etc.... I paid $31320 total with only $695 in total intrest. I put down 14K in cash and financed the rest at 2.9% over 3 years. Monthly payments are only $452 a month for me which is perfect. I was saving 500 - 1000 a month just to pay for this car so I'm good with payments. I can't tell you how much fun it is to drive an FR-S. It dives into corners like a duck into water! It wants to go through them and wills you to go faster. bneale |
Alright, I'm really curious a lot ppl paid 30k or less.
In Ottawa I went for a quote. 7500$ down. Upgrade deck, Msrp plus freight/pdi hst 13% Rest was finiance 4.9% 5 years Before my down the total was around 31000$ In montreal same car was 30500$ ish Brz were around 35.500-36k$k$ in Ottawa in 2 different dealerships In montreal brz was 31,000$ plus tax is 15% it's around 35,650$ Please tell me how you guys are paying less then that. Thanks |

Play it like you are NOT a car enthusiast and just want to get the car bc it looks cool, but couldn't really give a damn otherwise. Carcostcanada for invoice price, talk to a few dealerships and pit them against each other. E.g. First dealership I talked to quoted me invoice plus 4%, so I told second dealership that first one gave me invoice plus 3% and asked them to match and knock down admin fee, that I don't want any BS i.e. etching, nitrogen etc. Be prepared to get up and leave, pretend to talk to sales from dealership X on cell while negotiating with dealership Y, the usual car buying tactics. |
That typically works on cars in surplus, not cars in demand. Especially Subaru since production is so limited. Call around, get the best you can but take into consideration order time.

Oops. I meant 31,500$ in montreal... Hehe sorry But yea I thought the car is pretty limited that you get have the same leverage has a wrx or corolla. Ah well i have wait for next year for a car anyways... |

How are you guys getting these for under MSRP when there are supposed wait lists?
It's great, but I don't understand why they would sell it to you for less when someone is waiting in line? |
Not all dealerships have people on waiting lists to buy them. Again, it comes down to market demographics. I've gone to big dealerships where they did have people lining up to buy and they wouldn't budge on price. In the end, I bought mine from a small dealership in another part of town that didn't have people lined up to buy, and knocked a fair bit off MSRP (considering the demand for this car).

What dealer "extras" did people pay
Paid Msrp basically after extras.
Was just wondering what dealer "extras" people had paid. Just signed and paid for etching $290. :paddle::bonk: |
Just bumping up this thread - What did you pay?
I would imagine that there are certainly a lot of buyers right? Has there been more of a discount with on the lot vehicles than ones that are being ordered? I checked at Markville and they were offering MSRP only with almost $2K for Freight, PDI and other extra frees (~$500). |
Employee discount = below dealer cost here
|
Any dealership you guys would recommend?

I paid full price except refused to pay the $300 Global ID registration. New models like this are where dealers and sales people make their money. As long as I'm happy with the product longterm, it was worth the money for me. Yes I'd like to pay less if I could, but ultimately being on the preorder list and taking delivery of the first round I expected to pay full price. Based on what others have gotten, I won't lose sleep over a few hundred.
My wife thinks I am a good negotiator, used CarCost when purchasing my wife's RAV4 and got a fair deal. The key word here for me is "fair". Being in sales since my teens, I also have sympathy for salespeople. Therefore, I never go for the throat. People are brutal with me in my business sometimes, and I have observed that people that I do a lot of work for, and take a lot of aggravation, usualy end up being the ones that NEVER end up paying for my time. And if I do give them what they want, and make nothing on a transaction, they are the ones that accuse me of shorting them and end up cursing me. Then there's the ones that curse me because they can't afford what I sell of Im unwble to give them what that are asking for. Some people are more comfortable beating up a seller than others I guess. More power to them I suppose. |
Got about $550 off, tell them you don't need the iGlobal fee
