Corsa Catback Exhaust

I have been shopping for a Catback exhaust for a few days now. After watching a lot of videos I've decided that the Corsa (to me) has the best exhaust note. It seems to be nice and deep and not raspy.

does anyone here have it or has heard it in person at all? I'd like to get some input from the community. Also feel free to suggest other options as I am still on the market.

Here's what the Corsa sounds like:

I've had it for a year and a half. Very comfortable sound at cruising speeds. A few people have told me it is loud though. It doesn't seem that annoyingly loud to me, but makes me hesitant to pair a header with it like I would like to. Like most exhausts it sounds better in person than in the videos. The build quality is very good also.

I'd say if you plan to only get a catback, go for it. I also thought it had the best sound when I did my searching a while back and still do. If you plan to get a header/FP/etc in the future though, you might want to consider something like an Invidia Q300 or a Perrin instead as they are a bit quieter.

Thanks! I am still on the fence in regards to a header. I got an OFT coming in tomorrow. I'll see how it feels after a tune... I am no looking to make this a speed demon so if i like the power there I may just skip the header.

I've got one. Love it! Very easy to adjust so everything looks straight. Sounds great, still looks new after over a year and a half.

I posted 2 sound clips of my car with corsa catback. One with and one without front pipe

Niceee Keep em coming!

I'm also looking to get this exhaust, sometime in the next two weeks. From the videos, it has a hint of exotic with a touch of muscle (expected since Corsa deals with muscle cars). I absolutely love it.

The few local people I've asked who have heard it says it sounds amazing.

chaoskaze 09-02-2015 08:28 PM

IT's nice, I heard them they are nice. :)
Don't buy an exhaust that's too load so it forces you to do sound deadenings later down the road like me. :bellyroll:

*ppl always told me my exhaust sounds nice but inside the car it's really annoying on long highway trip...lol

tinma 09-02-2015 08:51 PM

Adding a catless frontpipe to this combo....I will warn you there is heavy drone in the 120kph range

TheVoiceOfReason 09-02-2015 10:22 PM

For me the road noise from the tires is still louder than the exhaust when at cruising speed. I drive two hours a day with this and have never gotten annoyed by the noise.

bRZillian7 09-03-2015 01:17 AM

Pm if you're interested in buying it I found an amazing deal $859 shipped!

EzyBrzy 09-03-2015 04:46 AM

I just picked up the Nameless axle-back today. It's got some bass to it from the videos I've heard. I will be installing mine in the next few days. It is the 3" axleback with 5" mufflers

Max FRS 09-03-2015 07:11 AM

I had the Nameless axle-back, great sound but drone in the 2000-3500 RPM range on mine, 2.5 inch with 5 inch mufflers. I now have the Corsa Cat-Back and love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect sound and no drone. On the interstate, you hear it but it is not annoying, overly loud and does not drone. When you get on it, the sound is there and it makes me smile every time. I purchased mine from Amazon also for $888 shipped. Hard to beat Amazon's price. Good luck as exhaust sounds are definitely a personal preference. I also had a Invidia Q300, too quiet even for an old man like me.

Still pretty stock busy building the engine. See my Signature

Wanted to update this thread, don't think there's a dedicated Corsa owner's thread. And to give the OP my thoughts, just in case if they are having doubts.

Videos does not give the Corsa justice! Installed it last night and it sounds amazing. Really does have an "exotic car" sounding tone - just a hint of it. Wish it didn't rain here in Seattle or else I would drive with the windows down all the time! The local buddies who helped install it loved it also.

Best money I've spent so far - besides buying the car, of course. Highly suggest it over anything else, in my opinion. I would link my video tests but it's nothing anyone have heard before.

Bought it from @FT-86 SpeedFactory. Highly recommended! :)

The only issue I see having down the road is wanting to drive around in 2-3rd gear the whole time just to hear it. There goes the MPG lol

Yeah I've been running with this exhaust for over a year now. its beautiful, the sound doesn't get old and if anything I love it even more now than before. Ever since I supercharged my car it sounds even angrier. And according to some people it "sounds like a larger engine than whats in there" I'm pretty sure it has to do with the valve timing or overlap... but idk i'm not a tuner. I've compared directly to my friends perrin, we drove eachother's car and I prefer corsa's. perrin is a lot deeper sounding. corsa's muffler removes some of that unrefined(in my opinion) deep tone and mostly lets some nice high notes out, i think thats what gives it a tad bit of an exotic sound.

I'll eventually get a video but don't want to use a regular microphone, Planning on getting a shotgun mic soon for it and other purposes.

the only downside is that this exhaust reportedly weights more than stock.... reportedly since i didn't weight it myself.

Weight is about 10 pounds more than stock. Doesn't matter for street/DD/spirited drives - basically anytime away from track. If someone is that OCD, then I would say lose some weight! xD

I am a Cosworth owner. In my opinion, they have crafted the ultimate exhaust.

Before I hear objections... I understand... its EXPENSIVE... but you get what you pay for. TRUST ME.

With this exhaust you get an excellent range of high and low tones as well as some burbles and braps all without stereotypical boxer rumble or the high pitched riceyness. It sound european and foreign and it really starts to sing at about 4000 RPM. Just the catback in stage 1 form is perfect. Stage 1.2 is about the same and stage 3 is too much, but that's a full exhaust system with cat-less headers.

If you want, I will do my best to make a video...

Would one or two fellow owners be willing to do me a favor or confirm my thoughts?

When we were finished with the installation and tested it out last night, the guys noticed there was water dripping from the muffler. I went under again and did a close up check today and saw there was a tiny hole. Was this intentionally made to prevent water from building up inside the muffler - sort of a drain? Could someone check to see if yours have the hole also? Thanks!

Yes, it is common for exhaust systems to have a drain hole right around the muffler

You do realize that its a Nameless Exhaust right? I think there may be some preferred tweaks from Cosworth put into the the design.

churchx 09-17-2015 09:48 AM

Cosworth's is not 1:1 as Nameless, indeed. While they ordered manufacturing of their header and catback from Nameless and at least header looks similar, but there are some changes they asked for. Ones i found out of:
For header brace to tie pipes together to lessen it's possible movement/better clearance
Combo overpipe frontpipe has round heimholtz resonator (in later ones maybe Nameless might be retrofitting to theirs aswell, not sure).
From pics Cossworth's catback have two much bigger connected with extra badge plate, and it's runners flange of connection to fronpipe comes in center, in Nameless's it first goes to the further left.
Still, which one to get at the end most probably will depend most on which side of pond buyer located. In US - Nameless, in EU - Cossworth. Imho no sense to pay extra shipping/import costs to get "other one".

I've had my Corsa for over 1 1/2 years now. when I installed it I weighed it out of packaging then weighed my stock stuff. It was within 1 pound of stock. Mine did not weigh anything close to 10 lbs more than stock. I still love it, I have a JDL ultra quiet front pipe with it, jacksonbracing supercharger, and am awaiting my ace type-a 350 header to arrive. I'll post a clip when it does. It is a great sounding exhaust for sure. Still looks nice too!

Ohh yes! please do! I'm so curious how it sounds with JRSC and the ace header... I just need the ace header!

Ordered the header in July, I think November for it to arrive.

Largest differences are in the RHD tunnel pass through vs a LHD vehicle. That is the reason for most of the changes. They still work on LHD vehicles but the Nameless LHD supplied items will not fit a RHD car. Especially with the larger case on the Automatic transmission

Interesting, guess I had wrong information. Good to know it's still close to stock exhaust weight. :)

Looking forward to what it sounds like with the ace header.

I put a Jackson Racing super charger on my car back in september. That, coupled with the corsa cat back and the JDL ultra quiet front pipe I had sounded great. I finally got in my Ace Type A with 350 overpipe and the car was unreal loud. I mean window shattering loud. I ran it that way for three weeks, even had a local shop make me a front half of the midpipe to replace the resonator from Corsa with a 22" long one from Magnaflow, and it was still very very loud. Today, I reinstalled the stock cat back and it is very quiet. I enjoy driving again as I can put the gas pedal down again without drawing the attention of every person within 10 miles of me. As much as I loved the corsa, it didn't work and play well with a header. So, it must go. If anybody is considering this with a header, I would look elsewhere. If anybody is looking at this to go with the stock manifold, then this is the very best sounding exhaust that I have heard to date. BTW, anybody want to buy a Corsa cat back?

That's sad news.... Was planning on putting a header on later down the road. Too bad it ruins the amazing sound of this exhaust

Not sure every header would, but mine did.
