10 Series Illuminated Vehicle Locator Badges Trade

4 Attachment(s)
Good Afternoon Fellow Forum Affiliates,

I am posting today in hopes of swapping my hyper white Scion TC/XB illuminated vehicle badges/emblems for the blue color variance of the 10 series badge. These are brand new, that I had purchased from a connection I made on this site. I didn't know they were of a different color until they were installed and there isn't anything wrong with them at all, it's just I am picky and was going for a certain look. If it is of anyone's interest to discuss a possible trade/swap and/or purchasing the front and rear badges in this color please inbox me or leave a visitor message and I should get back to you fairly promptly. These emblems will fit a TC or XB but not an FRS and they are brand new, just a week old, I baby my car so I would expect a fair trade and would also consider paying for these badges, along with the trade as well. Thanks for reading!

You sure its not just a wiring issue? Series 10 badges light up both white initially and then blue

Dleo3359 08-23-2015 08:42 PM

Thanks for the reply I didn't install them myself, I don't think it's that since I had a mod. shop do it so I'm sure they knew what they were doing in that department. I informed the individual I bought them off of and they made a call to the place where they came from. Never mentioned anything about that as a possibility. I also seen from another post of someone that had to get a rear back up emblem that theirs is also this hypo white color variance as well.

You do understand the tC and xB have different sized emblems from the FR-S?

Also there's a controller box wired into the cars for the color change effect.

Yes I know that they are smaller. The XB'S fit the TC that's what I ordered and I have a pair installed on my vehicle. Do you know what that box is called or what the part number maybe so I can order one?

You have to order that part from a Toyota/Scion dealership with a 10 Series VIN number as a owner and you will need the wiring harness also.

Some people have gotten around the VIN protect system but not many.

Any suggestions or tips on how to get around that?

Even If he did, he wouldn't tell you. He is against people putting limited edition Toyota parts on their car.

Yep @funwheeldrive knows my postion on this.

I did say that some people have gotten around the VIN protect system but not many.
All a person has to do is find a greedy stealership to sell them the parts.

Nothing rude about it as the parts we are speaking about are in the Toyota warehouse for customers cars as needed for replacement parts only.

That maybe the case but you're replying to my thread remember so please be respectful its just common courtesy. We're all adults, so please approach me as one and I'll do the same. And it's not like I'm adding a scion badge to an unrelated model. I didn't know anything about the 10 series until after I had already purchased my car, otherwise I would've bought a 10 series so what else am I suppose to do?....

It's your thread, in a Scion FR-S forum, in which you do not own one asking for a part which is reserved in limited quantity for a limited edition run.

I honestly don't care but he wasn't being rude at all. However I don't think many people are going to be willing to give you their VIN or swap their ~400 dollar emblems with you.

driftguy 09-28-2015 02:35 PM

So why are you here? Are you asking for a 10 Series owner to trade badges with you already knowing they won't fit either car? Or are you asking for someone who has access to custom blue badges that fit your car and not the FRS?

If yall are looking for a fight don't even reply because that's what it seems like anymore these days. Within the last half hour I've gotten more replies of people chiming in to get their daily fill of trolling. It was weeks ago I posted on here about this. Had one person reply with a helpful suggestion.

Now I have someone else coming at me with a condescending manner and apparently has a side kick following them around adding snarky comments. The post says I wasn't looking for frs...says XB/TC. Yeah it may be in the wrong forum but it's posted now and a quick search will pull it up if a person is looking to swap.

What's with the $400 dollar comment. Like I haven't paid $400 dollars for the two pair of badges I bought. I have 4 XB badges at $200 each so thats $800 right there for all 4 illuminated emblems plus not to mention the custom ones I had made which were $250 a piece. I didnt mention them because they were pieces of crap I wasted money on. If someone is under the impression I'm trying to rip someone off I don't see that at all in my post.

Lastly, if you don't have anything in relation to help, save it or I'm locking the thread.

Dude.
You may not have been asking for 10 series badges but your post read like you were.
There was nothing rude or condescending about pointing out that they need a special controller and that those are only available with a VIN number.
I don't see anywhere that anybody accused you of trying to rip anybody off or that anybody was in anyway in appropriate.
The irony is that your couple of little tiffs were probably the worst things said on the thread and have probably destroyed any chance you had of receiving any form of assistance.
I am curious however in exactly how you are going to lock the thread.

If I read it correctly, looks like FS/FT thread instead of general thread. I'll be moving them to Member classified section.

Please follow member classified rule or I'll be deleting the thread. Rule can be found here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89143

Edit: Lastly, some members have mentioned that 10 Series and RS1.0 FR-S are limited edition. Result is you're required to have VIN to order them (Specially RS1.0 parts). FYI even you get the part number, most of the time, Toyota USA won't let you buy them without legit VIN and proof... unless you can find some dealership that want business with you.

Couldn't help it

FRSHunter 09-28-2015 04:18 PM

special edition frs elitists + wtb thread in general thread for parts between 2 cars that op knows doesn't fit = 10/10 thread. Only need turbo awd comment and this will be thread of the year.

Sugi 09-28-2015 06:03 PM

This was a fun one to read! LOL

chaoskaze 09-28-2015 06:43 PM

OP i suggest you to just go to local FRS meet & find a series 10 owner & ask.

JEDI 09-28-2015 08:48 PM

Those emblems are $400+? That's what I learned from this funny-ass thread.

Something tells me that OP is currently on a Tc forum someplace saying what jerks FRS owners are. Little hope of him showing up at a FRS meet for a while I would guess.

Shady195 09-30-2015 08:54 AM

Well...

I have been told the FR-S is the new Fuckboi car of choice..

Can't wait for the 2018 model with turbo and AWD.
