Make the minimum donation ($2500) that gets you the plate frame and continue to donate to the cause every year.
Using it to just try and avoid tickets without supporting what is stands for just makes you a douche jerk. Why don't you apply for a veteran's plate or at least get some stickers that say you are one while you are at it. |
Tcoat, since you brought it up, do you have any idea where to source World War I veteran stickers?

Since that was too easy of a find and all the kids are probably using them now, maybe a more rare "U.S. civil war/I served" sticker would really get the cops off my bumper.

Just make sure it is the right colour uniform depending on how far north or south you go. http://rlv.zcache.com/civil_war_vete...2380952%2C0%5D |

Welcome to the Human Race lol You donate thousands either inherited, or earned and you get away from speed tickets with a CHP Plate, I prefer fake as my only option. Hey you can't blame me man I'm only human. Justice served |

This:"A number of the frames read “CHP 11-99 Foundation,” which is the full name of a charitable organization that supports California Highway Patrol officers and their families in times of crisis." Is not the equivalent of getting a ticket. Besides, even if the cops give a break to people in high end cars they are not stupid and know there are fakes. Bet one of these frames on a FRS driven by a really young guy will attract more attention then it will deflect. Could backfire really bad on you. In fact I hope it does. |

LOL. Check ebay.
My friend is a CHP officer, he knows the difference between fakes and reals. Good luck! |
You are a douche. I hope you get caught speeding, and when the cop finds out the frame is a fake, I hope he slaps you with a fat ticket.

The most honorable thing would be for all of us to get fakes so that the people who think they're buying their way out of tickets just waste their money and the corrupt organization that sells those frames gets nothing. Quote:

Don't think it maters anyway because from all the reading I just did on the subject the sales of the fakes has pretty much destroyed any belief that the cops had in the things anyway. I can go online right now and buy 1,000 different "I am a vet" items. No the military doesn't have an arraignment for them but people that never served a minute do buy and use them all the time. It is not the source of the materials that offends me it is the people that use it. |
Unless you have a membership card, once they pull you over, they'll write you up for EVERYTHING.
|
i hope you get rolled as soon as you put on a fake plate.

Real and fake screw the plates I don't have $2,200 to blow on those frames. Maybe diamond self defense mechanism frames that are worth $2,200. In the future though. And if I was made of money I would give 10k for the best CHP Frames and protect your lives by following the law . Ooh rah @Tcoat
|
Not worth it. I'd rather switch seats if able to with my xgf and have her cry herself out of tickets. Now that girl could act! Being adorably cute was a plus!
Don't forget they'd probably ask for proof of your membership. I would! No free meals! https://chp11-99.org/images/uploads/...sic__large.jpg I'd rather spend that money on buying those new CA yellow or black license plates (vintage) and small hidden mods. http://www.trbimg.com/img-5588675d/t...01/900/900x506 |

However, dealerships have something unique in mind. Since it's already prestigious, why not slap it on the car. Who wouldn't want to donate to CHP at a buyer who's buying an R8. http://i58.tinypic.com/3025pva.jpg The lack of respect is controversial, slap it on the vehicle or not slap it on the vehicle and have Tcoat address to them the coat of arms CHP |

Hey Squad,
What about getting one of those fake handicap stickers so you can get some good parking spots? |
Quote:
I am going to make and sell stickers that say "I am a handicapped veteran that supports my local police fund because my father is a judge and baby on board". I will be rich. |

You guys need to take it easy. Really. Who cares if someone buys a fake plate to try and get out of speeding tickets. Reading the articles about 11-99 makes me want to buy a license plate holder so I might "bring some attention to their cause".
As long as your plate doesnt say "member" i dont believe its trying to be deceptive. Its like putting up a charity decal on your car but in this case it "might" come with a few extra bonuses. Theres no RULE that says your not allowed to help market/bring attention to a charity. Sometimes people just need to relax. Dont let your panties get caught in a bunch over something so small. BUT Pretending to be a Vet is absolutely disgraceful. I think theres a difference between 11-99 holders and VET holders. Many will probably disagree. |
