Accuracy is going to be a function of the GPS unit in the device.

Any smartphone app is going to be limited by the 1Hz update rate of the in phone GPS. I bought an external bluetooth GPS unit to use with HLT so that I could get 5Hz updates. Works like a charm.

Track Attack.

Developed by Local racers. At one race weekend this year I realized I had left my AIM SOLO at home so I downloaded the Track Attack app ($14.99) and it was within 1/10th or so of the AMB Transponder system which is amazing for a phone app. Also does video on your phone with data overlay which is rather pimpy.

This app is really great. Spring for the $20 pro version with video.

If you don't want the actual data logging Racechrono has a heads up display that shows last lap, best lap and time difference from best(in green or red). I think this option is only a couple $$
