Nitrous build

I haven't seen much on here about putting nitrous on this car. Im starting a nitrous build on my car. Would like to see an owners thread for nitrous like they have for turbos and super chargers.

This is the car stock no tune and a 50 shot and it handled it like a champ

Sweet man seems like no one likes or is scared of nitrous. What was your track time and mph?

BRZtoni 07-19-2015 11:12 AM

My time was a 14.65 at 95mph
Had a run ealier that night with no nitrous at 15.5. It was a bad night for racing in Oklahoma.

Nice to see a nitrous user, I'm a fan

Yeah I ran that same time last night at Orlando Speed World with just headers and e85 oft tune. My best in the winter is 14.3 @ 97.

My best in the winter was a 14.9 all stock. I was hoping to see 13s with nitrous maybe with a tune.

dallenj 07-20-2015 12:26 PM

Does anyone on here know of a tuner in Oklahoma for this car im having trouble finding one in my area

#maverick# 07-20-2015 04:38 PM

Sweet man! I have been exploring nitrous as well, thinking of a wet kit to spool a 6466 once my built motor is done.

I recommend nitrous express I got my kit from them. They have really good customer service and the kit almost looks like it came with the car.

mrk1 07-20-2015 08:21 PM

Do you have an AFR gauge on the car?

I have the opposite problem of trying to find nitrous locally lol. Whats it per lb now?

If you can't find a tuner your best bet may be e tuning.

I can fill my bottle up a lot places here its $4 a pound most places. And with e tuning I will need a cable and license right. Where is the best place to get a deal on that.

I do not

You gonna try an get on that street outlaws list? I think ya need a bigger shot and a couple more stages lol. In all seriousness though, spray on this engine can probly make for some nice numbers, heck you can probly get away with bumping to some 13.5:1 pistons and really make some nice numbers.

the 50 shot is only temporary until i can get a tune then i will bump up to a 100 shot. and for the street outlaw list i have another car I'm working on and i wont be talking about it here

Usually around 3.5-4k. Any higher and I get wheel hop. Best is 2.1 60' typically 2.2 though. I need practice as well...:burnrubber:

Seems like 25 psi tire pressure is about right as well.

Arcadien Angel 07-21-2015 07:27 PM

I will definetely be keeping an eye on this thread. I've been juggling the idea of nitrous. More so now because I have chosen to go with a supercharger in the future. Having that linear and predictable power increase, and then an extra boost when I want it sounds all too enticing.

Probably only a 25-50 shot on stock motor, and 50-100 on built motor with the SC. With a WOT switch sprayed at over 3K RPM.

I preload the drivetrain by using the handbrake and slipping the clutch and then lowering handbrake and slipping it out. If you wheel hop try raising your two step and lowering tire pressure a bit. I was having the same issue

my fastest 60' is 2.1 as well. what e85 kit do you use and did you have to upgrade your fuel pump and injectors to get it to work?

I was planing on doimg the same thing down the road with the super charger. You should start looking for some nitrous kits first they are pretty cheap and offer good power. Then you can get the super charger for more power.

I just use the OFT UEL e85 tune. Works well enough and no for NA you don't need anything upgraded. Just the tune.

Hey dallenj. If you are on facebook you should get in the oklahoma ft86/frs/brz club. we had a track night a couple weeks ago. Compared my full bolt on e85 car to the 210 sprintex kit and a couple sbd kits. Its a good group of people and always helpful and doing events and stuff.

My one question is where does everyone get the cars tuned here. I talked to sbd and they wouldn't touch my car because it has nitrous. Is there anybody else that tunes these things?

none that I know of currently. just went and talked with abel racing cause im in the same boat myself. just ordered a turbo kit and would really like a local tuner that i trust. Ive done alot of business with them on previous cars and they always did a great job with the tuning. Didnt get to talk with andrei who is the tuner but talked to jr who is the co owner and he said as long as we have a way of modifying the tabels andrei should be able to tune it. so ecutek tuning should be possible to him.

stevo585 07-23-2015 10:59 PM

do you think abel will be willing to work with an oft it will be a cheaper alternative than the ecutek system.
