2015 vs. 2016 Dimensions

Hello good people of FT86CLUB.

I'm finally looking to take the plunge and make my first car purchase, and it obviously had to be the FRS. I would like to think I know quite a lot about the car, but I spotted something odd on the 2015 vs. 2016 brochure (attachment) and would like to ask everyone here for clarification.

The height dimensions shows the '16 is taller than the 15' by over 10 cm (4 inches). Needless to say, that is a huge discrepancy for a car that is supposedly left unchanged throughout the years.

Anybody know why? Thanks in advance!

Aozora.BRZ 07-14-2015 11:08 AM

Your attachment did not go in correctly.

D_Thissen 07-14-2015 11:13 AM

I highly doubt that the car is 10cm taller. Why not swing by a dealership and compare the two?

EDIT: Here is Scion Canada's dimensions
http://www.scion.ca/scion/en/vehicle...ons/dimensions

SubaruLifer 07-14-2015 11:15 AM

Scion's website has the 2016 height at 50.6", which is exactly the same as their listed height for the 2015. Probably a typo in your brochure.

So my question is this if the 2016 FR-S is 4 inches higher than the 2015 model would it be a deal breaker for you ?

BTW the car hasn't changed.

NWFRS 07-14-2015 12:08 PM

The 2016 is Tundra-based.

The 2016 has a new standard shark fin antenna that is about 4 inches taller than the 2015s.

My dad works at Scion he told me.

That's with the optional off-road package.

Doesn't 2015 FR-S have shark fin antenna too? :iono:
Or is 2015 one 4" tall and 2016 one is 8" tall?
Confused...

Everyone wanted turbo. Some even wanted AWD.

This is what you got, 4" more.

Yeah that guy is wrong - my 2015 has a shark fin on it and the 2016 has the exact same one.

Errors are not "False Advertisement". Besides I bet there is a disclaimer in fine print that says something like "All items may not be exactly as described"

It was some dealer material and they just slapped AWD over the picture of each car. Caused all sorts of rumours. Doubt I can find it since I think it was buried in the middle of one of the huge speculation threads.

No, it was a misprint for the year. The 2017's are AWD And turbo for Subaru. For Scion, the base Spec will be FWD and the top trim will be a mid engine, rear whee drive.

Damn it. I refuse to buy Subaru because of the low quality. That was why I went Scion in the first place.

Veloist 07-15-2015 11:20 PM

Yeah I was just keeping quiet...is any one here aware how ridiculous a 4 inch shark fin antenna would look?

Is anyone aware of how long 4 inches is, in general?

I'd imagine most guys on this forum are painfully aware of how long 4 inches is.

BRZnut 07-16-2015 11:49 PM

4 inches more? Maybe they put Viagra in the tank

Veloist 07-17-2015 12:57 AM

4 inches is the 200hp of celery
