thats the only squeak I have and ya THAT is a fix for it my belt tension is correct but it still squeaks over tighten and it wears more looser and its worse, and ya could have had a different tittle didnt know that was a real thing thats how we refer to belt noises around here sorry lol

Poodles 07-09-2015 08:35 PM

/facepalm

You DO NOT lubricate serpentine belts! Period, end of story. No belt dressing, no nothing on them.

fika84 07-09-2015 08:40 PM

From my google searching, it seems it's a bad idea... but it's your car and you can do whatever you want with it.

FWIHBT adding a bit of 2-stroke oil to your gas tank fixes dem crixes but don't quote me... please! Originally people were swapping out fuel pumps but that seemed to be a temporary fix.http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/...Media_UNLI.JPG

Trollolollolol

1) There's nothing to retention as it's a spring tensioner (in other words you're clueless)

2) Belts don't squeak unless they slip. Adding grease makes them slip more. If you're serious and you're a tech, then I'm Abraham Lincoln...

Ahhhh but when they slip more the noise does go away. For a bit!

Wow... anyone got a flame suit for the chap?

People won't always agree with everyone or everything at any given time. His methodology may work or may not, who knows...

Sideways 07-09-2015 11:54 PM

I love that Benz grease. I even used it to re-lube my muffler bearing and it fixed my exhaust crickets also. But while I was doing it, I noticed that I need my cross drilled brake lines replaced.

HunterGreene 07-10-2015 09:23 AM

I havent had my coffee yet, so my reaction may not be as vigorous as you like. Still...
