The wifey and I were on our way home from
dinner when we saw this. "Oh you have got
to get a picture of that!" :)

There's a Domino's Pizza billboard by my house that's an advert for hiring delivery drivers and it says the average income is 70k+.

I have no idea the reality of that claim but it seems misleading.

Had a pizza show up in a year old 911 once. I was so busy looking at his car and he was so busy looking at mine we almost forgot the payment for the pizza. Was a retired guy that just delivered pizza a couple of hours a day for some pocket money and something to do.

If I win the lottery I want to do this. Dress up in various costumes for my shift and start delivering to people in exotic cars. Maybe record it too for that sweet internet fame.

The guy did say that he got a lot of weird looks and often people took pictures. He was very chatty and I couldn't get rid of him as my pizza got colder and colder so it was obvious he wasn't concerned about making money.
We also get Chinese delivered (we cooked once back around 1997) and of course the delivery drivers are almost always young Asian dudes. Have had a wide assortment of cars pull up from really cool almost stock sports type cars to riced out Neons that would make the F&F producers cringe. Almost always they are very distracted by my car sitting a few feet away.

With that sign he/she can drive fast and avoid speed ticket, im very curious about the RX8 behind

Probably this lol. If I was making 70k a year as a pizza delivery boy, I wouldn't be driving a beat up civic for work...

Maybe he's the manager or something? Usually when it gets busy in my cousins store he goes delivering himself.

Seems like it'd be best to do this in a city with a higher minimum wage (like Seattle), a reliable fuel efficient car that easy to get in and out of (Kia Soul? first gen prius).

Maximize your tax breaks like the mileage break from the government where you get to deduct $.51/mile on your taxes. You could literally have 0 tax burden. I don't think Dominoes is paying the federal mileage reimbursement but if they are then you get the money up front and not back in taxes. If that's the case you use that reimbursement to pay for gas and maintenance. If your car is efficient and reliable enough it should pay for both with some left over, especially if you can do most of the work yourself.

Tips are primarily in cash so that's also income you (choose) to not claim on taxes if that's your prerogative but that's what pretty much all food servers do.

With the right car, right minimum wage city, enough work, good average tips and managing your tax burden correctly.. you'd probably make more than any UBER driver.

By the way, anyone who noticed how he/she parked?

If I attempted pizza delivery, the biggest decision would be whether to take my belt, ankle or shoulder holster.

So if you receive a pizza and it's pushed all the way against one side of the box, you know why.

Looks like it's rougher back East. Every article in the link describes attacks and murders of pizza deliverers East of the Mississippi. We prolly have our share of them too.

I'd rather run an ice cream stand during the Summer at Hood River Marina to keep the watersports peeps and tourists happy.
