Trans insert and block whine reduction

1 Attachment(s)
Question for those with a (torque solutions/whiteline etc) transmission insert AND/OR the replacement transmission block (Perrin, supertek etc).
I have the combo and the feel is great but after 3-4 months or so, the loud transmission whine( in 6th gear mainly) is just too much for me. So I'm wanting to remove one of the two to reduce the whine once i install a new header. I know there will be whine with either but I'm wondering which one will reduce it more? (The block I'm guessing?) thanks. Pic for attention.

hmmm probably the block, since I have that and it whines, but my friend has the insert and I don't notice it whine as much. i could be wrong though

no pic needed for attention. but sure, just get rid of the tranny support mount. put stock back on.

Do you get that 6th gear whine at <50mph and another quieter when 70-80?
(Because I don't really mind the whine first few gears)

yup only in 6th gear under 50 mph

Go back to 100% stock bushing under tranny.

I'm highly tolerant of noises because of aftermarket parts. The cusco motor mounts are installed in my car and it does not bother me one bit while others cant live with it. That said, this combo (Torque Solutions/Whiteline) has been the only one that has beaten me. The noise from the trans (supercharger like whine) was annoying for the not noticeable "performance" gain. Left just the Whiteline and I'm happy.
Also, I think you can only have the option to keep the Whiteline because you cant use the Torque solution by itself since it was meant to work with the bushing.

Get the STI Group N transmission mount. It's like the stock mount but with thicker and harder rubber. It costs a fair amount more than an insert but if you're noise sensitive than it's worth it. I have it installed for over a year and haven't heard and whine.

not sure if your thinking of the correct part due to the brands i used.
I have the torque solutions insert here
i think you have the whiteline version here

Is that Correct that is the part you left on?

because the part im removing would be this super tek block when i think you are referring to removing this torque solutions part

Note: i do have the TRD quickshifter kit which added a similar part but i doubt it adds the whine

Thanks for the help!!!!!

My apologies, misinterpreted when read the "AND/OR". I thought you meant this:
http://www.forcedfabllc.com/ForcedFab-Transmission-Mount-Stiffener-Subaru-BRZ-Scion-FR-S-_p_6927.html
Which works with the bushing. So you have both for a stiffer trans mount.

To answer you question, I have the whiteline trans insert with the trd short shifter and was using until very recently the energy suspension shifter bushing. Zero whine.
Then I replaced the energy suspension piece for the one that came with the short shifter, still zero whine.
Sorry for the confusion.

How loud is your whine with just insert? Because I could tolerate a lower decibel

So was that link the T block you had on that was causing the whine? And it went away (pretty much) after putting the stock t block back on?

It's a high pitched noise you can hear at low speeds. It gets covered up at highway speeds by the wind and road noise.

Yes, but my thought is that the whine was even higher because I had both. Between the T and the insert I would go with the insert, no whine.

Is the whine a bad thing for the transmission? I have just the insert installed from whiteline and i am experiencing the whine you speak of.
