WE'VE GOT 86 PRE-MEET/50 SHIRT INFO LIST IS UP!
 

Alright ladies and gents! I have secured a safe and accessible spot for all 86 attendees! We will be meeting at the South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) parking area labeled "Lot A." After the main entrance turn right, the lot will be labeled and on your right a short distance afterwards. The address is 2011 Mottman Rd SW, Olympia WA 98512.

If you are unable to meet-up for the cruise or would prefer to drive alone, please just show up at the SPSCC Parking Lot A parked and ready to go by 11:00am.

You will see that there are individual(s) who will be leading the cruises. These responsible people have volunteered to ensure that you will get to the pre-meet location in a timely and safe manner. They will be there to guide you and inform me if any changes or unexpected circumstances occur!

I will be at the SPSCC Parking Lot A with @Missy at 10:30am. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP EARLIER THAN 10:00am at SPSCC due to arrangements I have made with the SPSCC staff.

Please do not try to bypass the main 86 group meeting at the pre-meet location and head straight to the dealership. No cars will be allowed in until the main 86 group has parked.

Any person(s) interested in media coverage and covering the longest line of 86's in the PNW please meet me at SPSCC at 10:30am for details and set-up.

Further instructions will be given at the Pre-Meet location promptly at 11:00am!

Hey guys! thanks for the questions. The list was generated by the date of commitment ("thanking" the original thread post not the shirt thread), or a clear indication that they would be going in the thread (some could not "thank" due to not enough posts).

So basically the first 50 people who have said "yes" i'll come to the event in the original announcement of the event located here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=86211&page=3 are on the list. I have also included the date of their commitment so that there are no mistakes.

If you feel there is an error, please pm me and I will take a look and adjust what is needed.

Like I mentioned before, if you don't see your name on the list, not to worry! There will be lots of things going on that day where you will leave with something!

Can't wait!! What time will the show be open to the public? I've got a few buddies that would love to show up!

I mean this in a neutral way, but this is why you should have fully read through the instructions in the original post (or in general with anything you commit, or sign to); it was only about one paragraph total of text, and the information that was required for getting a shirt was listed after the statement about needing to thank the post, so it shouldn't have been missed.

The shirts are for the forum community, so I think the "thanks" part was a good way to ensure that a bunch of people that aren't a dedicated part of the forum community or own a twin didn't just hear about this thread, create a new account, and flood the thread for free stuff - which would have totally ruined this for all of the legitimate forum members, and owners that will be there.

If you believe that the whole event "sucks now" based on that, then I think that that bit of a filtration process is doing its job.

Show will be open to the public at 12pm or after all the 86s have parked! Spread the word! It's gonna be fun!

I wanted to chime in because I was one of the guys that didn't read, and re-read and thread multiple times for the correct sequence of likes, thanks, or replies needed to get a free shirt. I am honestly a little disappointed I'm not on that list. I can understand NW86's frustration, and I'm sure he was just saying that "it sucks" out of frustration and dissapointment. I'm sure that dissapointment will fade once we get to the pre-meets next week and start bullshitting with all the good guys in this community, because that is what the event is actually about.

Given the number of posts for this event, the number of edits on the same posts and the fact that you also have facebook invites I am not at all surprised some folks got confused or completely missed the roll call and that includes me. Hell, I think the whole shirt topic came up a few days after the original thread was even posted :bonk:

I personally just hope this is the worst gripe anyone can have about the event because Bernie has been busting his ass setting this up so we can all have a good time. I'll buy a shirt if they do print extras for purchase. :cheers:


On a completely different note, if you spot me at the event I will have a cooler of water in the back of my car for anyone that needs a drink. It is going to be really really hot out there so it is gonna be important that folks stay hydrated!

lame!! i was very much looking for that free shirt.. now I don't know about making that 2 hour trip up north. posted on the first page of that hsirt thread which now updated to say something about posting and committing on a different thread lols. wtf!!

The 50 first shirt thread always referenced the original thread. That thread was made to benefit everyone so that it would gain exposure so that all attendees would know. All the instructions to receive a free shirt were in there. Simply be the first 50 to "thank" or commit to coming to this event in the original thread.

The updates I have made to any of the main threads have to do with spelling or grammatical errors I have made. I have never changed the original guidelines towards getting a free shirt.

I mean this in a nice way, but if your motivation is only to get a free shirt, then maybe this meet is not geared towards your needs or expectations.

A lot of people who have continued to support this event and many of our monthly meets come out to meet their fellow 86 owners and simply share a smile

Rodney at Toyota of Olympia has been awesome to work with. Did he have to provide us with 50 free shirts? Definitely not. But Rodney and the staff at Toyota of Olympia are excited to take care of the 86 community.

man, its 15$ for the shirt, just buy one if you want it that bad, or buy a ton of raffle tickets and try to win one. i'd be going even if there wasn't a free shirt just for the fact that we have so many people committed to going. that's a whole lot of 86 visual porn to look at in one place in one day.
