Spyder Side Markers

Does anybody have these? I think they look awesome in black it would match the dark color of my car. I was curious if anybody has any input on these if they leak at all and if they are of good quality.

Yeah I can't resist the price I think I might do it. I really like the smoked ones I have a gray brz so I think it would match perfect. I'll give them a try.

Keep us posted. I'm also curious about those side markers, though I heard different reviews about their headlight products.

Ok received the side markers today. Impressions:

Design: These are totally flat (same as the North American side markers). The pic looks kind of like there is a longitudinal bubble. There's not. it's just a change in the inner reflector pattern. The Helix and JDM sidemarkers have a side projection in the lens. Some like this, some do not. I have no preference.

Color: These are the darkest tinted sidemarkers I've seen. They're darker than the Helix tinted sidemarkers by a wide margin. They're not totally black, but pretty darn dark.

Finish: Not perfect. There is "flash" left on the lens from construction on the left sidemarker. Will have to sand and polish this down if I'm going to keep it the same color. I've thought about color matching my sidemarkers anyhow.

Materials: Plastic seems a little lighter than the Helix sidemarkers. There is not that little strip of felt on the top that some sidemarkers have. Can't tell how well these are sealed. Helix sidemarkers consistently develop condensation, so I'm going to seal these with silicone before permanently install them. Also, I'm going to silicone or epoxy the "A" clip to its' mount because all sidemarkers tend to lose this clip.

Thanks so much for the review. I am really digging them I think I will purchase these. I like the flat look better than the protruding look much better than some other side markers you can buy.

Might buy these to replace my helix ones since they're darker.

Shipping is where they get you on these for sure. Mine cost $15 to ship coming to a grand total of $50. For that price they should include bulbs.

Sorry to resurrect this thread.

I just received these and they are the biggest pieces of crap i've ever seen made specifically for a model of car. And cost $50 shipped!

The fit is horrible, they wobble around and don't sit flush/with the lines of the car like the factory ones do.

It's not installer error - I spaced the metal parts of the clips to match the OEM markers and they still installed embarrisingly poorly. I reinstalled the OEM ones and they fit just like the did brand new from the dealership.

Don't waste your time on these! They look great, but I think you'll be disappointed if you are expecting anything resembling an OEM fit.

To those that have these - maybe something has changed in the design... I've installed a lot of car parts and I'm appalled at the quality/precision (or lack of really) of the fit.:thumbdown:

I really wanted some clear and FLAT side markers. :<

Lesson learned, if you want flat side markers steer clear of Spyder unless you want some ill fitting ghetto riceboy junk.

Got any other suggestions? I've only found those and some ebay ones made by god only knows who.

Could these be made off the measurements of an OEM side marker with clear or tinted plastic on a 3D printer?
