CASC OR Regional Autoslalom Series Picton June 13

I attended the first event of 2015 in the CASC OR Regional Autoslalom series yesterday. The weather couldn't have been better! An awesome course and very well organized and run event.

Video is taken with my Mobius action cam, still figuring it out as well as youtube, and video editing..
My 2nd run of the day, a 2:05 something, I did manage a run in low 2:03:xx which was 9 seconds behind the class winner.. (STU prepped M3)

My car is an unoptimized BRZ in the faster bloo colour.. with eibach prolines, and 17x9's with 245/40/17 RS3 V2's (same tire as the m3.. may even be same size)

You weren't in Daniel's class, were you???

Skurj 06-14-2015 06:40 PM

Yeah he is the M3.. he's STU

Doesn't really matter when Mike A (aka Jesus) wins FTD and PAX... I'm not sure if that's typical for most AutoX events... but at least the guy with the biggest tires won! lol

Happy that the year of gathering experience in the Miata has helped, now to put that experience to work...

wparsons 06-14-2015 08:24 PM

Aren't you STX? Or by class, do you mean ST*?

Skurj 06-14-2015 08:29 PM

Yes I am STX, vs Daniel in STU, but factoring PAX, I was still waaay slower.. by lunch time I was in the top 15 (pax only)... everyone went faster in the afternoon sessions cept me..

You missed today...the rain almost held off until the end

looked fast on your runs
It must be the fast bloo
Mine is the slow white
I'm the last of all the twins...not sure about today but saturday was pretty shitty for me

Will, was expecting to see you but you were mia

I have too much going on this summer to hit up many (or any at this point) autox events :( I'm booked pretty much every other weekend with time attack stuff, plus trying to be at home sometimes.

No huntsville this year, sorry :(

I was there. Of the twins, I was 2nd slowest on Saturday, slowest on Sunday.

Wait!
Does that mean I wasn't the slowest on Sunday?!

This can't be!

brzr 06-15-2015 11:15 PM

I don't know sunday results
Been waiting impatiently to see how I did
Didn't have a single clean run
Managed to hit a cone on every and one run I took a whole row of cones....fun times

Lynxis 06-16-2015 09:19 AM

I checked results on the website after I finished my last run and next slowest twin had like 6 seconds on me and still had another run after me. I'm so slow lol.

Skurj 06-16-2015 11:18 PM

I was only there Saturday, and of 6 runs, all clean, not a single cone hit... but yeah I didn't win either... AARRRRRGH... ok well must try harder... optimize car... but had fun anyways... hate watching the videos afterwards and going "why didn't I do this.. or that" ... annoyed... hindsight really is 20/20

I'm pretty sure they made a mistake with my last run
My first three were in 120's and I'm pretty sure I hit a cone on the last run and it's at 104
I'm still claiming the slowest twin title
The 104 is wrong

Lynxis 06-17-2015 01:51 PM

The results are available on the CASC website, you were faster than me across the board on Sunday. I'm even slower than a Chevy Cobalt and a Toyota Corolla so go figure. I've got some videos that I'll try to get up on youtube tonight.

Lynxis 06-17-2015 02:19 PM

A friend pointed out my mistake, I was not reading the names on the results correctly. I see what you mean about your times now. Hard to say but if I were you'd I'd just take it lol.

I was only there for Sat but it was great fun.

The first run of the day was a head scratcher -- I came around to the "switchback" section on the second runway and just went "huh???" :) After figuring out which way to go, the second run was 10 seconds faster.

Ultimately got down to a 121.997 in the afternoon. I was slotted into STX class only because of my 1" wider wheels. I don't have any suspension changes or CAI / cat-back etc. Under the MCO rules I run in C-Stock (they worry more about tire width than wheel width) so my red beast was effectively a grossly-under-prepared STX car. ;)

Here are my best recorded runs for each day.
