3rd Annual "BeeRZ and BRZ's" (and FRS's!)

The last two years we have met up over the summer for a beautiful river cruise followed by food and drink at the Triumph Brewery in New Hope, PA. Let's keep this thing going!

We will start with a meet at the far end of the parking lot where Triumph Brewery is located, in New Hope, PA. Go for a cruise up the PA side of the river and then back down the NJ side, arriving back at Triumph for some grub and beerz.

Let's do this Sunday, JUNE 28th! Please post letting me know if you are in and I'll add you to the list of attendees.

DATE: SUNDAY JUNE 28TH 2015
TIME: MEET @ 1PM, LEAVE BY 2PM

LOCATION: REAR OF PARKING LOT @ 400 Union Square Drive, New Hope, PA (Triumph Brewery Lot)

Attendees:
1. Phaedrus29
2. Laika
3. tim.earles
4. Streetthrowback
5. yajin
6. Alex C.
7. kykiee
8.

Info from Laika's post on this drive last year:

"Phaedrus29 and I have figured out the route we will be taking. It's a nice mix of sweepers, straights, and second gear corners. Most of all, it's a gorgeous, scenic drive. There's a couple brief moments where we need to drive through town but they shouldn't be to burdensome.

There will be a break at "Destination B", this is just a very small "park" that's mostly a parking lot but it has a nice view of the river. Good place for a photo op. We'll probably add a brief break to the NJ side too.

For the most part, this is really not an extreme drive. However, on the Jersey side of it, just after Carpentersville road there's a section of narrow roads with quick turns. It'll be a lot safer with a group and especially with a leader that knows where the road randomly turns and crosses over the parallel (yes, not perpendicular) railroad tracks. I definitely made the ABS work a bit while discovering this. Oh and on this narrow road there's several mini waterfalls on the drivers side. As I said, very scenic drive for PA/NJ.

What you need to bring:
1. Copilot (optional)
2. Snacks
3. WATER
4. Radios if you have them. We had a total of 4 FRS radios amongst us last year, helped a lot
5. A full tank of gas
6. Money for parking at Union Square (where Triumph is, 1.00 per hour). No need to pay when we just meet up. Only when we go in for dinner
7. Camera
8. Positive attitude. We WILL see traffic at some point. Don't worry about it, we can slow down to build a gap while we enjoy the scenery."

Hope y'all can make it! :burnrubber:

Let me know if you have questions.

Sucky...what about Sunday, June 28th? That wouldn't interfere with the Formula D I think.

let's get this show on the road!

Phaedrus29 06-10-2015 10:37 PM

Sorry been a bit crazy and this week is no exception. I think I can do some day on June 27-28, July 18-19, or August 8-9. You guys? Any preferences?

x1UP 06-11-2015 12:35 AM

I'm down for this, let me know.

tim.earles 06-11-2015 08:14 PM

I would love a Sunday, the 28th of June would work well for me. I live just 20 minutes from New Hope.

I will be working the Doylestown at Dusk Car Show on July 18th, really cool show in the center of Downtown Doylestown. The New Hope Auto Show on Sunday, August 9th. And the Quakertown Cystic Fibrosis Car Show on Sunday, August 16.

MooKz 06-15-2015 06:08 PM

Formula D June 27th but those other weekends I'm down for.. July 18th is my birthday actually and I'm open to receiving presents!

Streetthrowback 06-15-2015 07:19 PM

fx35s 06-15-2015 09:50 PM

So when and where is this?
I've never went to this one yet :)

Phaedrus29 06-15-2015 10:18 PM

OK sorry for the delay in planning. Let's go for June 28th and we can always plan something else later in the summer too. So June 28th it is!!!!! I'll edit the first post.

I added tim.earles and Streetthrowback to the list since it sounded like the 28th would work...but them me know if something comes up.

When do you need a confirmation by?
I'll see if I can go. :)

kykiee 06-16-2015 04:52 PM

I might be able to make it. Depends if I'm playing in a volleyball tournament on the June 28th or not.

MooKz 06-16-2015 07:36 PM

Anybody in the central Jersey area down to meet up to head out there?

Hey All,

How many people are going? If its OK with you guys, we may be able to help step up and sponsor this meet with some pizza and refreshments. We are in the process of introducing our complete lineup of RR Racing manufactured Big Brake Kits for the 86, and would love to use this opportunity to show you guys our stuff and get some feedback.

A little info about us.... we are located in Eastern PA, and we made a big effort since last year to develop some really nice BBK's, 4 stages of front kits, plus a rear kit as well. We did all or development on the Element Tuning Whelen Time Attack FRS.

So as far as our sponsorship goes, towards the end of the week, we would like to get at least 7-8 confirmations.

thanks,

Rafi

Come on lets make this a real meet... depending on the turnout, we may also raffle off a $50-$100 gift certificate good towards any of our 5 brake kit offerings for the FRS/BRZ.

Check it out... http://www.rr-racing.com/category-s/128.htm

Alex C. 06-24-2015 01:05 AM

Hello!

I'm new to Philadelphia (just moved here about a month ago), and would love to join this Sunday.

How long approximately will the entire trip take?

Welcome! It is something like a 3 hour drive (including a couple short stops along the way), followed by a visit to Triumph Brewery. But of course you can head out whenever you want.

Laika 06-24-2015 01:51 PM

I was thinking about it and I think the drive itself is only about two hours and we just spent a lot of time on the breaks last year due to us taking some cool pictures.

I hope to see a good turn out this Sunday. Rain or shine!

Streetthrowback 06-24-2015 03:45 PM

Shouldn't we make this earlier? 1pm sounds late

kykiee 06-24-2015 05:13 PM

I'll definitely be there on Sunday

x1UP 06-24-2015 10:06 PM

Looking at the weather this Sunday, it looks like any time after 1PM, the weather will be much clearer, with the rain happening in the morning. It might change from now until then, but 1PM sounds like a good time.

Hopefully I can make it!

Sorry about the loss ;)

Rafi@RR-racing 06-25-2015 05:42 PM

Sounds like we may have a good turnout....

If you guys don't mind, we may have 2 IS-F's... but we all technically have Toyota DNA:-)

Rafi

Rafi@RR-racing 06-27-2015 08:12 AM

Looking forward to Sunday...

We will bring a cooler with drinks for the drive (Coke, Pellegrino, water)

Also, if we get 6 or more BRZ/FRS attendees, we will be giving away a $50 gift certificate towards any item on our site.

Looks like no rain for Sunday, so bring your track tires:-)

-Rafi

PS: I hope you guys don't mind, but we may have some Lexus's there as well... the more the merrier!

Yes, we promised pizza, we will figure it out. Maybe we will grab some along the way and stop and each over our drive. Lets discuss the plan @ 1pm when we meet up.
