Wahoo!

The good news, I can plan a trip right up the spine of the Appalachian Mountains all the way there and/or all the way back home.

The bad news, that's my wedding anniversary! It's going to take some convincing to get MomHawk to travel 20 hours round trip for a weekend retreat to Summit Point, population <2,000!

Time to start working the DadHawk charm.....

DC is like an hr and half away. You & MomHawk can do some visit/vacation there. There's a lot of sight seeing there.

...& use your charm ;)

kanundrum 05-27-2015 10:27 AM

See you there :)

Yea, that may be the saving grace, as we used to live in DC Metro and she has college buddies that still live there.

Unfortunately I will likely not be able to make it this year, even if its closer than last year...family stuff, you know? Ichi, thanks for putting together what I am sure is going to be a great event again!

Not that I will be able to get one, but I like having the "2015" in the sticker.

Just to start the discussion, will there be any kind of hotel arrangements?

BoxRZ_86 05-27-2015 10:38 AM

Also I know friends and I have camped at summit point at different events. Will that be available for the expo?

No Brakes 05-27-2015 10:40 AM

Awesome, I will have my car by then so this would be a good first 86 meet. What if I just want to be in the Auto Show? Not looking to Autocross just yet.

You can just do the car show and not autocross.

FRSTRM 05-27-2015 01:31 PM

NO - YOU MUST RACE YOUR CAR!

We have double checked with NASA & they gave us complicated answer. To make it short answer is "No", but they're helping us with near by hotel group rate.

Last year, we had a good amount of members came from Tri-State. You can make a regional thread to see if you can plan some carevan together with your local group.

If you just want to do Car Show & not autox, you can do that. PM your info to Guff.

But I do recommend doing autox. You own a sporty car, gotta have fun w em! We had a ton of owners never autox every event & go home with big smile on their face saying they'll look into local autox organization!

I'm not gonna force you, but space is limited.

Just my 2 cents

Either way looks like its going to be great! Thanks Ichi for putting it all together!

soulreapersteve 05-28-2015 01:38 AM

Hmmmm if the poker chips fall into place, I may be taking a cross country road trip this summer. Marking this on the calender. :)

pfffh! I'm coming from Rochester and it's gonna be 6 hours. Do eeet!!

Just registered for autox. Am looking forward to at least as much fun as last year!

Edit: also voting 2015 version for the sticker.

Guff 05-28-2015 06:39 PM

I updated the car show submission requirements to include:

-Your Name
-Your car description
-Your Mod List
-A couple of pictures

Just send me a PM @Guff and I'll put you down for the show.

HOWEVER, understand that we are currently working with our venue to determine how much space we have. If there are more entrants than there is space, I will pick from the group and determine the "showiest" cars (hugely subjective, so forgive me) to put in the show. I will try to make it an even amount of FRS and BRZ but of course, that depends on how many of which type of car enters. Don't feel mad/sad/bad/flatulent if you don't get picked, just key my car when you get the chance.

Thanks!

Channeling my inner Ichi here and guessing that insurance costs to facilitate this is a bit too pricey.

Also, could just be that we won't be the only show in town that weekend.

There is a NASA Mid-Atlantic Hyperdrive available that weekend for on track driving. It is separate from the expo event, but fits in nicely with the schedule. You can auto-x Sat and Hyperdrive Sun.

Hyperdrive registration will open soon, linked from

Basically this, a Track Rental (whole track) literally doubles the price as is of the event/venue rental. Next year if this year turns out to be even bigger last year we may end up doing a Time Attack (Relatively safe format).

Like kanundrum stated (he's one of Event Staff). Price doubled than we wanted to. I'm pretty sure Hachi don't mind paying for it, AS LONG AS it's justified... but I said "No". I wanna grow bigger event to fulfill everyone's wish... but I wanted make sure there's enough venue & budget to back it up.

If we get a lot of people going, I'll make track happen next year. I'll bend my old ass on the ground to beg Hachi to make it happen... IF WE GET A LOT OF PEOPLE COMING TO THIS YEAR'S EVENT.
