$46k FRS - LOL

We all have our own tastes and opinions on what we each think looks good when it comes to cars in general. I'm not into body kits but that's whatever. I found this while searching for an Ultramarine...

http://www.scionofolympia.com/used-O...ZNAA18D1729665

Yes, there is a turbo, coilovers, wheels, etc. but for almost 50k... damn.

Roadcone 05-14-2015 03:53 PM

That's about what it would cost to do it yourself... to do a rocket bunny kit right with the kit, wheels, suspension and paint you're looking at 15k for that alone. 20k for that + a turbo kit... now you're seeing how much money people are blowing on these things.

raven1231 05-14-2015 03:57 PM

Who the hell would trade it to a dealer? Probably got 15k for it

soulreapersteve 05-14-2015 03:58 PM

Yup, all power to you if that's what you want to do. Not my money.

If I were to go this route in the far future, I'd prefer to do it myself instead of buying one with everything on it... but I can see why there are others who don't want to install all those parts (especially the body kit) own their own. It would be a lot of work.

8R6 05-14-2015 04:01 PM

time for dealers to know what it feels like when they cant get back the money that was put in to a car for mods hahah.

$25k car + $10k mods =/= $35k value

STV3 05-14-2015 04:02 PM

Lmao I don't care whats done to it. I am not buying a USED Frs with 30k miles on it for almost double the MSRP of the car when it was brand new.

soulreapersteve 05-14-2015 04:07 PM

Pure speculation on my part - The person who owned this car probably financed it, put all those mods on, then couldn't afford the car anymore. So, they had to give it back. Who knows.

It's going to sit there for a while, unless some person with cash to blow comes along and picks it up.

Turbo95eg6 05-14-2015 04:08 PM

22-25K tops by a private seller.

Teseo 05-14-2015 04:09 PM

Its modified so thats mean will not have warranty

HATED1 05-14-2015 04:12 PM

Just a little background on the vehicle. Car was purchased stock with nothing on it. Dealership had the Greddy kit installed by the body shop. The turbo kit was installed by Drift Office.

DuMa 05-14-2015 04:26 PM

no armrest?? im out

D_Thissen 05-14-2015 04:28 PM

The seller probably only got 15-20k for it unfortunately. I wonder if someone will buy it for that price?

The warranty tab on that page shows what seems to be the standard Scion warranty, but I'm guessing that can't be correct. However, I'd imagine the dealer would have to at least provide some bare bones warranty. I've never bought a used car, let alone a modded one, though.

Missy 05-14-2015 05:24 PM

Guys, the dealership put it all together..

RobertPaulson 05-14-2015 05:40 PM

this is just a dealership marketing tool to get people in. they've priced it high to keep people from buying it so they can keep using it.

Synack 05-14-2015 07:31 PM

So the dealership took a 23k miles 2013 year one FR-S and slapped a bunch of GReddy shit on it and some Toyota badges and think they can sell it for $46k? Right....

So they had a ~$15k invoiced FR-S and put about $13k into it. If they can sell that mofo for anything more than $35k they've got a good deal.

BlueDubbinTDI 05-14-2015 07:53 PM

I've seen cars with similar stat sheets sell for about $32k. This will not sell so I'm sure it's a marketing ploy. Otherwise, they'll reduce it month to month you can be sure.

Im gonna assume some poor sap traded it in for about 30 grand because they need the funds, and some dude at the dealerships like, WE CAN MAKE BANK WITH THIS. Thus ====> 46k

BUUUT, if it comes with a warranty, than it's kinda worth it assuming your gonna push this car, track it or whatever.

a couple of people already said this car was bought in stock form by the dealership and they (dealership) put on all the mods.

I mean its a known fact that besides selling extended warranties dealers makes most of their sales off of adding stuff but this is a joke. If i had the time i would number crunch everything together to see how much the car is actually worth. Plus its already sitting on 28k miles. What also bugs me is underneath the car specs it lists all the stock specs. Nothing on the turbo boosts, psi, e85, 93 octane. It's literally like, if people are willing to mod these for this price, lets just do it for them. They seem to not understand the whole concept of bought not built. But I'm sure since this car is already "used" they can't use the pure pricing. A google haggler should be able to drop 10k off of the msrp putting down the consideration that this car continues to sit at the dealership for another year, they don't hit their sell numbers and they just need to get rid of it. But things like this just irritates me. Plus the car's value is about 20k and thats with me rounding up.

Simple guestimations, if i had 10k and threw it in the car im pretty sure i can get this build if not close to it. Thats just my 2 cents.

I pick it up Tuesday.
Then I get to be all angry, defensive and carry the RB/hellaflush chip on my shoulder.

You'll probably win the Stancewars award and be posted all over the internet, all for the low, low price of 46k before taxes and fees!

The only thing missing is extreme camber which will definitely make your hellaflush car look like a hovering UFO.

$46K? They told me there were 20 people after it and the price went up to $52. Pretty sure I saw @Ultramaroon lurking around the sales desk.

Hell, that money aint gonna spend itself.

Brndn704 05-15-2015 01:47 AM

All that money spent, and they still have knock off wheels.

Tcoat 05-15-2015 01:54 AM

Although I am a supporter of the do what you want to your car ideal and can fully appreciate the work and passion that goes into them that video epitomizes my vision of many of the hellaflush for life crowd. It is pretentious, self congratulatory, holier than thou and just plain annoying. I can see I would be able to talk to that dude for about 20 seconds before just turning and walking away.
Oh shit, I just crossed over in to the hater camp from one 2 minute video!

Yeah, most guys in that crowd are really pretentious. I don't think Vic is, (the owner of that frs, if he still owns it?) However a lot of the Insta famous stance guys think they are the greatest and everyone wants to be them. They do it for the likes and fame, but at the end of the day the likes really don't matter. Do it to make yourself happy. I stated in a previous post that I deleted all of my photos of my car, I only built it for myself. I love it and thats all that matters. /end rant.

That's not stance. I think it's actually a very cleanly done car. This has the potential to be track worthy honestly. (I am anti-stance in every way.)

It would be good to know things before speaking about them. That's how misinformation starts and is spread.

I actually like yours and didn't even mind that one in the video (other than the stupid fucking tow strap dragging and the 20 foot tip). My personal issue is the whole "I know not everybody likes this so I am gonna shove it in their face and then be offended when they say something" attitude that is seen so often. There is a reason why so many Illest and Stance Nation stickers and plate frames say "haters gonna hate" or "only the best know why we do what we do".

There is absolutely nothing clean about RB. Any dufus can drill and screw in a few hundred sheet metal screws or whatever the hell they use.

Stretched tires are not track worthy.
