<rant> I see tons of cars on the street, and especially here in LA, that are slammed with giant wheels straight reppin' and reminding people that the hella flush culture is still alive and well. Their giant wangs, extreme negative camber (especially when done on our twins) is kind of embarrassing. I mean to each their own and all that stuff, and I guess we all express ourselves through the cars we drive differently but damn that shiet ugly, esp when compared to some nicely modded European cars (BMW, MB, Audi) that have their wheels perfectly flush (not hella flush). I know I sound like an old fart and realize it is already too late because this platform is already this generation's Honda Civic. For the ongoing plus-sizing and stretch tire movement, can we turn it back down a notch and just get wheel and tire sizing combo that fit to maximize performance (as opposed to simply maximizing what fits under the wheel well)? If you want to get 19x12" wheels, get a Camaro or something American (or at least go get a supercharger or turbo to better match). </rant>

And to be fair, some of the cars in the aggressive wheel fitment thread are extremely well done. Just like some of the cars in the meaty tire thread. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't get what your point is. If a person spent $0 on flashy mods and all of his money on performance mods, you could rant that his money is wasted because he doesn't even track the car. He/she is such a poser! If he/she did track the car, you could rant that the platform is wasted because it is still road legal and should be a dedicated track car.

I love when a person has modified their car. If it is hella flush, I know right away we may have differing opinions and priorities in life. If the car is very subtle, I know we are more likely to be like minded so I may be inclined to strike up a convo.

If you want to rant about car choices that effect everyone, rant about people who justify driving huge SUV's for their 2.3 children. They take up too much space in parking lots, parked along curbs, slow to accelerate, slow to stop, huge fuel consumption, and are absolutely proven not as safe as a decent station wagon.

I dont get why you have to hate on what other people do since it doesn't have anything to do with you. They aren't really what's wrong with our culture, its people that rant and hate on what others do, thats the problem. All I see now is negative shit everywhere, somewhere along the line I think everyone forgot this is supposed to be a community and not just a bunch of people having a pissing contest.

Call me a hater or even a poser because I don't track my car enough to warrant all the time & $$ spent on my mods. Just saying there's tasteful and there's not so tasteful. But you know what ppl say about what opinions and assholes have in common...

They have their car scene we have ours. If they wanna go beat up the car their parents paid for let them. But for me and im sure many other of us, i get an indian tear eat time something as little as bird shit lands on my car.

I've modified my car pretty heavily but I feel like I've done it in a tasteful way. That being said, I haven't been pulled over yet. All the riced out, slammed, big wings, huge camber, loud FRS/BRZs are taking the attention away from me. In comparison the cops probably don't even notice me so all the better.

You've made a judgment call enough to say somebody is a douchebag because they use a different phone than you? That says way more about you then them.

First if you hate the stance scene then why talk about? Just worry about the car you drive and the mods you buy. Let the other kids/adults buy whatever they want for their track/stance car. If you hate it forget about it the more you talk about hating something the more you just stress and anger yourself. WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO TO THEIR OWN DAMN CAR. Anyways there paying for it your not. There's always going to be different arguments from both sides. Stance guys are going to say it's a waste of money tracking your car and then there's going to be track guys saying its a waste of money stancing your car. Just forget about it and live your life.

I personally love both scenes, I do the stance scene because it's just crazy trying to drive so damn low with crazy camber/fitment. && that's my opinion, and I honestly respect anyone's opinion on THEIR car because that's their car. There's wheels that I do not like on our twins but some twins have them but I'm not going to talk shit and say you picked the wrong wheels because in the end it's his/her car. In the car community there's always going to be different people likeing different taste on their own car because it's there own car why talk shit to someone for doing it on there own car? It's pointless.

These are not my personal feelings. I think you chose a classic understated functional style. I get the look. My car has similar understated mods and styling.

Still, people who build cars as rolling art would probably think that cars like ours are unoriginal and uninteresting if they shared your logic. That wouldn't be cool. Or maybe it would be. In any case, you didn't build your car for them and they didn't build their cars for you. Their styling choices don't bring down what we built or our "scene" or the group of people we roll with. Just as our "boring"/"tasteful" cars don't bring down their "gaudy"/"wicked" ones either.

I can't believe anybody would ever spend 4k to shave a half second off of their blistering track time! Thanks for the lecture guys, I had no idea what I was getting into when I posted my OP <<add sarcasm>>. I'm still really upset that anybody would make such bad decisions and quite honestly I lose a lot of sleep at night over it.

I chalk my opinion up to something along the lines of a neighbor in the community pointing out someone doing something drastically ugly or unsafe to their house bringing down the reputation and value of their community. Communities still have checks and balances. I appreciate the track scene and the stance scene (maybe not as much) and as @DAEMANO pointed out I'm neither, I'm the understated functional Old Navy look (I don't have any Enkei stickers by the way).

Given the resources that I have, I would never EVER do this because in my opinion this is the dumbest look and most wasteful way to throw cash into a fire (automotively speaking). HOWEVER, if given the resources of say, Bill Gates, I would have 30 of these in my fleet and I would drive them around town with my friends in toe blasting John Prine out of the buzzing trunk subs. Why? Because why not, if I have the money and it puts a smile on my face, that is the only thing that matters.
