New owner
So I'm pretty new to this, I bought a used 2014 FRS I've only added an N1 catback to it.
https://www.facebook.com/harold.elle...58470/?fref=nf :D First time ever working on my car too! and it worked out pretty well... So the next thing I did wad tint my windows and then I learned about plastic dip. so here are the results of it. https://scontent-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...7a&oe=55C5B6DF https://scontent-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...be&oe=55D24E65 Had to do some testing on wether using the cards or not was the best(without cards its the best.) https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...cdab1f02b566cd Got the super charger! here it is! https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...70ba70f1208a2b The supercharger is installed!!! https://www.facebook.com/harold.elle...0/?pnref=story 550CC fuel injectors and 255LPH fuel pump! https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...4f&oe=55C5177E But I'm still pretty new to this, I'll be adding upgrades to my car little by little. And here comes the main point of the post. What do you think I should upgrade/add next? Also any places to buy parts that are rather cheap...(I'm not that rich :()... Catax.. I wonder if this works here.... http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost...ting_turbo.jpg Ps: No idea if this should be posted here, like I've stated before totally new into this. |
Welcome. These cars are so easy to work on. Plenty of space to work on and DIY.
The black wheels definitely look 5x better. Which mods to do next depend on whether you are looking for performance or cosmetic improvements and your budget. Does any one have any recommended equal headers and front pipes? Also I've just added a super charger to my collection. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...70ba70f1208a2b

I would purchase some good suspension pieces. To me the stock ride height is annoying. Also I would think of some new wheels or at least nice tires to accommodate for the increase in power.
|
How much was your supercharger kit? Just an FYI, you can also use 3x5 index cards to plasti-dip your wheels if you dont feel like wasting a deck of cards haha
|
I like how the wheels turned out...and the cat pic cracks me up :)
***I would start saving up for an upgraded clutch, brake hardware, and additional cooling mods...now that you have the supercharger you need to alter the car to handle the kit... |
But first grow a thick skin for the nasty folks on here.lol if you search first then you'll avoid 99% of the nastiness..lol Good luck, looks great!
|
New update!!! I got the supercharger installed :D! has some kinks though...
Also I had some 3x5's but I lost them somehow the day before I did the install. either way it's better without the cards. https://www.facebook.com/harold.elle...0/?pnref=story Quote:

So, what are the kinks if I may ask?
I don't plan on a turbo/SC until way down the road, if at all. I just love learning! :) |
The installation of the Vortech kit sucked. If you've got little automotive background you'll have a hard time. It took allot of youtube and googling to learn how to do things. but I haven't tuned it yet, so I can't let you know about its worthiness all I've had to deal with was the annoyance of the installation. FYI the instructions suck.

*Also, I don't know if I missed it but do you have oil temp/oil pressure gauges? |

Man to be new to modding u damn sure jumped in head first! Respect! FI straight out the gate! As to the tune... Idk if u have a tuner picked out but if u search the tuning section of the forum there is a plethora of great info. My personal choice would be delicious tuning flash n go tune. Just read tons of great results. As for ur next mod... Oil cooler hands down. U can burn thru tires and the vortech kit should be good on stock clutch depending on the pulley. But engine temps r a major concern for all 86's. If you're like me the more reliability u can get the better! Best of luck with your build. Jealous of the boost! Still waiting on my kit...hahaha

That depends on your intended use for the car. If u plan on tracking or autocross u deff want a good, solid setup. I'm personally going with the Jackson racing oil cooler but Idk if that's compatible with the vortech kit. Try searching the vortech thread n see what other users are running. Stick with brands that have a good rep. Perrin, mishimoto to name a couple.

Oh yea Full Blown makes a very nice unit as well. They always make great products.

Hey! I'm on JBLM occasionally also! Come out this Sunday and meet some of your 86 enthusiasts this Sunday @ 6pm at Tacoma mall Krispy Kreme! I'm sure others would like to see your Vortech kit!
