License Plate Frames, People. LPFs...

New to the community here on FT86. Thought I'd start my stay here by asking what kind of LPFs you guys like/what do you currently have? Here are some I think I could dig.

None. Weight Reduction Breh.

Nah, seriously. I just inverted my free one from Grimmspeed and taped a bit so it doesn't bang on the paint.

I have an STi plate frame from the dealership. It's low key and understated, which I like. I wouldn't get an illest frame unless I had stanced out my car. That's representative of a specific community, not just a random frame.

I went to University of Spoiled Children so gotta my license plate frame.

This is not mine but funny regardless.

The basic thin chrome with a smoked cover. It ties the tail lights together a bit so they don't look quite so out of place.

Check your state's laws, I know in CA they will immediately pull you over for a smoked cover, they are strict on those.

Ya, I should have included that disclaimer! Not legal here either but have had them on cars for 30+ years and never had them mentioned once.

I had to search long and hard for this one. Found an old frame from my old 240. I don't even think driftspeed is in business anymore. Cheesy, but unique.

A lot of people on here have to use front and rear plates, and in a way I am very happy to live in TX where cops don't really care if i have my front one on or not. I can show off my baby's sexy nose better that way ;] :D

funwheeldrive 05-12-2015 10:09 AM

I cant remember the brand, but I have a simple black one that acts as a border for the whole plate. I like it a lot.

I was pulled over by OPP one day in my prelude
Walks up to car and says
Muffler to loud
you sped off from the light
speeding
your lights are illegal (hid in non projector)
license plate covers

OPP was the only cop to even mention them when I get pulled over
never had an issue with local PD

Not a BRZ but this was made using newspaper from Japan. Newspaper was used as packaging for a part.

Agreed. Wish I didn't have to have a front plate, but I'd rather not deal with the hassle of fix-it tickets (I know of people getting tickets from meter maids in LA and SF for not having a front plate).

No, you're just lucky. They added the fine back into the law and they've been cracking down on it.

I prefer not having a front plate as well, but I'd rather not pay the $200 fine for not having it.

In truth, I have been given a warning about it whe I got pulled over by a state trooper. But, oh well we all take risks right?
