Cool. I've been getting 'around 3k' for a long time from them, (even yesterday), no one would put that in ink (I'm not getting it with mine).

It bewilders me why they can still charge extra for something that cant be removed.

Why not just average i out and make it part of the RRP.

Id much rather free (although technically not) metalic paint over "oh thats another $400"

To be honest with this RRP it doesn't bother me at all.

Does the kit also come with that under body part to hide the bottom of the exhaust?

Can you order that kit without the wing?

It's funny because if you pre-ordered prior to the site update, you really had no idea about this. I would be very interested if I could buy this kit without the spoiler. The wing would look beautiful on a race-car but not for my daily.

You can't pick and choose, you'd have to get the boot holes welded/resprayed for perfect spoiler less look.

Is the Aero kit an exclusive option for the GTS? Or is it available both for the GT and GTS at the same 3k premium?

Seems to be GTS only

We were told at training on the 4th that it was a GTS option only.

By the way guys, the side skirts and the rear wing are fitted on the production line and the front and rear skirt are both dealer fitted. We were discussing the fitout on Friday arvo and we reckon they've done it this way to make the car easier to transport so when they move it on and off trucks that they don't accidentally bash in the front and rear skirts.

makes sense. wonder if we can purchase individual parts of it, that wing will turn alot of people off. including me

Nope, you can't split the kit into component parts, unfortunately. Although having said that i am working on some contacts for you guys with aftermarket suppliers - not going through our dealership so no dealer markup.

Omg Andrew, - Sean here.. def keen for more information on TRD after market, (especially the full TRD kit) Since I'm getting my car through you/warren can you give me/other users on forums any information in regards to how far we can go with external modification and to how it will affect our 3year/100,000km Warranty

G'day mate. Aftermarket parts are not covered by factory warranty. if any aftermarket part damages a factory part, neither are covered by factory warranty.

I haven't seen any issues with the TRD aftermarket bits because in a way they're not aftermarket as they're made by Toyota for the 86. They would be considered aftermarket if they are not supplied/fitted by an authorized dealer, even though they come from the same place.

Toyota should have an announcement coming up for what they are doing with TRD options but we won't be seeing parts until end of the year/beginning of the following year.

In the meantime, i have made contact with a few guys out there and once they have everything set up (about a week away) and you send me an email or call/txt me i will pass on your enquiries.

Please note when i'm talking about TRD aftermarket - these parts will not be purchased or fitted through us.

Toyota genuine TRD parts that are purchased/fitted through our dealership will no doubt have factory warranty.

I asked about the Aero Kit at the dealers today. He said it would cost $3500? Extra for metallic/pearlescent paint?

TRD is like 160,000 yen at RRP.

We'll probably see it delivered for less than $3k from other suppliers and won't need painting for black/white cars.

I have to say TRD RRP in japan has priced 86 stuff very reasonable compared to other brands like Mugen!!

And sealed parts are already on YAJ for around 25% less than the RRP.

But many sellers on YAJ don't have stock and might not be able to get stock for months.

I ordered my TRD rear wing from Jesse Streeter and he got them for me in 2 weeks. Price is cheaper than YAJ and no shipping cost within Japan (unlike buying on YAJ).

I should get the goodies by Wed latest. They are currently in Sydney..

Yeah Jesse and others like him are great. They will often actually buy from YAJ if they can find a better price/stock on a part there.

Yea, I found it odd that they would charge you twice for metallic paint.
Either way, I won't be getting the Aero kit, but it's nice to know what it's worth :)

From what I was told from Brookvale Sydney Dealership is that the Wing is part of bootlid, its not just simple unscrew of 2 bolts....

Could be false information but this is what I was advised...

If anyone orders the kit but does not want the rear wing let me know... mine is going on the track so genuine is the only one the rules allow me to use.. asked my dealer for a price ... I am just waiting for the stupid answer ... anyway.. in three months time I am sure there will be one in a wreckers ...

If anyone has a kit fitted to a white car and wants a spoiler less boot.. then same goes.. don't weld it up.. lets do a swap..
