Id rather watch 2 girls 1 cup while eating chocolate pudding.

Matador 12-06-2010 09:08 AM

meh.

stevens8 12-06-2010 03:34 PM

Why have 200hp FWD over 200hp RWD? I would imagine the price difference wouldn't be that far off either.

Different strokes for different folks! Lose the wing and that thing would look sweet!

I got to admit, I'm a Honda guy so a turbo CR-Z is definitely a good thing.

BoostJunkie 12-06-2010 04:49 PM

Lol, I know I'm just playin, so is it diff engine or....

Nm just checked out link, it does look pretty good for a hatch - the wing of course

well played, sir. :)

i'm not a huge CRZ fan, but that one looks okay. i'd still take an FA5 over that any day!

fernan2 12-06-2010 10:10 PM

^^^^^ +2 the cr-x is way to heavy, but is a step in the right direction!

ichitaka05 12-07-2010 08:42 PM

Sorry, but "Honda = NA" in my brain, so "Honda = Turbo" doesn't sit well w me.

fernan2 12-08-2010 03:18 AM

here a vid. of a nice looking one!

This car is going to have a crazy aftermarket.

RWDJunkie 12-08-2010 11:35 AM

It does sound interesting, but I have to agree with ichitaka05 -- factory boosted Honda sounds weird to me. Also, I still hate the CR-Z's Dust Devil shape.

 you guys are funny! Just think of it as another milestone and you'll be ok!

RWDJunkie 12-08-2010 04:05 PM

It's all good. :happy0180: It will (hopefully) be a much better car. It's good news for the FWD pocket rocket fanatics out there. Currently the CR-Z falls short of what it was supposed to be imo.

No convertible, they should do Targa. I think, Targa CR-Z looks cool

the acura RDX has 4 cil. turbo engine, so honda has the feedback of how their next turbo engine should be. (i think)...

Man, if these article are indeed true, Honda is going all out with this CR-Z! :w00t:

No bueno on the targa! That failed with the Del Sol!

I say the more the merrier! Seeing so many variants is a sign that Honda is trying to capture the younger crowd like how they did back in the 90's! :happy0180:

True! I guess I'm really down with conv and targas but good on Honda's behalf to weigh the options! :w00t:

RWDJunkie 12-09-2010 04:39 PM

My only concern with the convertible is the added weight that will come with it. I mean, the CR-Z is already kinda heavy for what it is, and the added weight to make the body more rigid won't be a good thing towards performance.

Anyways, (not directly related to the topic) I just stumbled on to this photoshopped CR-Z and wanted to share. Click the image for source.
I kinda like the Scirocco-ish widened rear end.

RRnold 12-09-2010 05:16 PM

That does look sweet but pointless on the staggered wheels!?!

Look at the camber on that black hatch tho!! :eyebulge:

Allch Chcar 12-10-2010 02:53 AM

I do agree the turbo is a much better idea than the hybrid. There's nothing wrong with the Lea engine, it was the powertrain that was the problem. As it is a FWD Honda, I'd never buy it either way. But hopefully it works out better for Honda.

ryude 12-10-2010 03:05 AM

Honda NSX or bust...

fernan2 12-10-2010 03:18 AM

NSX

this is what the CR-Z should have been...Id even be trmepted into buying it if it was a factory option. K20 CR-Z

BoostJunkie 12-14-2010 07:22 AM

 it still will.

I WANT! I WANT! I WANT IT!!!!!!

as a track car i'll have my ft as a daily :burnrubber:

BoostJunkie 12-14-2010 08:20 AM

You realize that, that car is honda's GT car built only for the GT races, it has a V8 and is completely made of CF, I think it puts out upper 400's maybe even 500 hp, and Honda has already said this will never see production, although if they wanted a big seller I garuntee this thing would sell like a GTR or be just as popular given a descent price range for this slick Lil ridehttp://i819.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/IMG_5004.jpghttp://i819.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/IMG_9213.jpghttp://i819.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/IMG_6064.jpg
If they redo the NSX I at least hope it looks like this, looks alone I give it a 10

iirc Super GT regulation require hp to be less than 500hp & weight 1100kg or more. Gotta agree this car should be base line for next NSX

BoostJunkie 12-14-2010 12:38 PM

Thank you for the correction, I would love to drive this thing down the street, I wonder how hard it would be to build this thing, or what frame to use....

No shit!! :party0030:

I could see it now, buy the CR-Z, get the Hybrid discounts and thumbs up from all tree huggers, get the K20 swap and never worry about a cop every giving you trouble!

BoostJunkie 12-14-2010 05:04 PM

Have you seen how easy it is to make power off the k20 now?

Back when I was a Honda guy, this guy I talked to on our forum did one of the first full rebuild & custom turbo kits for the K20Z3, came out at mid 700's whp on 35psi, but was Still pretty bullet proof, that was back In 2008, I went back on the forum not long ago and it seems like all the Turbo Si's(k20z3's) are all at 400whp and up, back when I did it there was just a handful of us

Damn I feel ol skool! My era were ZC's then B18's, B16's on B20's in EG and EK's and H22's in CRX's. :bellyroll:

MtnDrvr86 12-14-2010 06:52 PM

seems im a little behind the curve...just recently geting into Honda. I would love to swap in a k20 or k24 into my civic. I love the old hatches and would like to build one with a b18 from the ITR...just need a real job first

I was all about the clean JDM EK's back in the days! IMHO that was the best looking body style... next to the DC2's! :party0030:

Correct. CF tub, aluminum subframes for the engine and suspension, must use the roadcar roof and a pillars. 500hp limit. Hose engines in Formula Nippon Spec make over 600hp (pretty much similar to the Toyota units).

I've her Honda is considering a low production run. I'd bet that it would cost upwards of $150K, so re:boost junkie, I don't see it selling like hot cakes.

It's a real pity though, would have loved to have see it come out, probably would have had a v10, that V8 is straight racing spec stuff.

As long as they didn't call it NSX that would have been fine by me.
