belt buckle dent - how should i cover this up

Gave a coworker a ride and he repays me by closing the door on the seat belt buckle which left this nice solid dent....:bonk:

The paint isn't damaged, but because it's the rocker and how sharp of a dent it is, it's safe to say PDR isn't going to work. So i thought of safety grip tape to cover it up, but at the same time make it look oem.

idk, what do you think? any other suggestions?

I would just leave it alone.. the griptape make's it too obvious that you're trying to cover something up. You probably won't think much about it in a couple weeks!

lol grip tape? Just leave it, or see if someone can PDR it with glue. Maybe they can make it look a little better.

That sucks. One of the things i fcking hate is when people slam my door!! Like seriously wtf!!

I would leave it.

Question: is your seat belt tensioner shot? How could it have stayed down there?

Not sure. I was thinking maybe it got wedged in the crease of the sling/loop and didn't retract fast enough. He was 6-4 so I'm sure the belt was extended quite a ways.

leave it you will forget about it in a week unless you ride shotgun in your own car alot.

I relate 100%, I didn't notice at the time, but he must of slammed it pretty hard since there's also a good sized dent on the underside of my door too.

There's always been jokes that our cars were built with thin metal, but I'm a believer now.

Dang those belt buckles! All kidding aside, u can just cover it up... & ban him from your car! Worst yet always sit them at the back seat

Kotu100 04-24-2015 03:12 PM

Make said coworker pay to fix the damage. Only option imo.

JB86'd 04-25-2015 09:09 PM

Did you ask a PDR guy to take a look at it?

He's only a co-op student and an honest good guy who was really excited to ride in my car, so I haven't said anything. Guy probably doesn't even know he did it, so I'll just let it slide and repair/cover it up at my own cost. Kid only has a week left of his placement, so he's banned from my car for the next 5 days lol.

Yeah, I have an appointment on Monday.

Choco 04-26-2015 06:53 AM

I have a dent like this too. :/ People somehow keep doing this with my BRZ.

alan.chalkley 04-26-2015 07:03 AM

A good PDR guy can do a glue pull on that.
I found a good guy in Sydney that did two glue pulls on my car.
Two panel beaters and a different PDR guy told me that glue pulls would not work and they wanted to bog em up and respray.
But my car does not wear stickers or bog.
