CAR IS COMPLETELY STOCK, other than the Pioneer unit ;) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...183016_332.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...607_201707.jpg First upgrade I do other than the air filter is the sound upgrade. Car Came with Pioneer AVH-2400 from the previous owner. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...705_124404.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...705_124323.jpg Went to @DarrenDriven's house and had some Eibach Sportlines installed! :) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...211_080833.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...211_211348.jpg 6 Months Later Went to a couple meets and got some shots of my car/others https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...1427770660.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...358348879.jpeg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...20%281%29.jpeg Finally decided to bite the bullet and buy some actual performance. One of the forum members was selling a used Open Flash Header / Open Flash Tablet combo for $800. Couldn't resist https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...330_201835.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...321_113609.jpg Started off by running a stage 1 EL 91 Tune for the first week or so. The drive-ability was increased, torque dip was reduced and it was a nice change over mostly stock performance. Constantly was checking the software tuning sub-forums and ended up paying a visit to a local shop that served E85. Corn-juice, Car booze. Whatever you wanted to call it, it WORKED... On a stock car, the E85 OTS tune is quite good. The attention to detail from @steve99 and @Shiv@Openflashperformance was noticable. After taking it easy for around 25-30 miles to let the ECU adjust, the engine roared to life like nothing before. After several days of using the tune and E85 I noticed a sound around the 3800-4500 RPM Range, I was still learning about the fuel trims and was honestly worried that it was running lean. After researching a while longer I found it was the VVTi caused from the tune, and the sound grew on me as I waited for the header to arrive from PA. After some unsuccess of getting help putting the Header on, I ended up borrowing jack stands from my brother and putting the header on myself, as this was the last piece of the puzzle that I had purchased. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...404_131806.jpg Took some time and using the borla header install pdf, managed to mount and seal the new header into place. I bought and used new gaskets from the dealer. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...404_153454.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...404_153442.jpg 1 Month Later I decide to finally Dyno my car to see what I'm actually making at the wheels. I set up the appointment at PRE in portland and show up to get it dyno'd. Lots of mixed things about PRE, honestly I doubt I would ever let them work on my car, but as far as buying parts and using their Dyno; they're good at what they do. But i'm still very happy with the result. Post more pics! Especially of the wheels I want to see the drop from the Eibachs

Eibach springs are a great way to start lowering. I'm planning to pair them with koni yellow springs to get normal ride feeling back. Then add 17x9 +35 rims to make the wheels flush https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.37.11.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.37.26.jpg |

Just got back from getting the final drive swap completed by a local shop in the NW area. Got the ring/pinion and the install kit from weir performance for a little over $400
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2017.15.22.jpg ~ Found a shop in Portland, OR that had done SEVERAL final drive swaps on the 86 platform, and he's incredibly fair for his rates! Got the entire labor complete for around $370 $300 for labor $70 for supplies https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2022.23.19.jpg It was done in a single day. I just need to change out the fluid in around 1000 miles after the gears have broken in. Absolutely NO whine at all from incorrect backlash. Entire car has more torque, and when this mod is paired with E85. I don't believe there is a better NA setup that you can do!! :bellyroll: Just wanted to share my experience ;) |
How's the ride? now that you have the Koni's installed.

Installed Password JDM Strut bar set with the help of @Cooperdh
Some pretty blurry pics are all I have atm, but a noticeable increase in chassis stability https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.10.58.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.11.29.jpg |
@Aztec I dig the build! I was wondering if you could take some side shots of your wheel setup, I was wondering how much poke if any you have up front or the rear. I'm currently running the same front camber as you, I want to avoid poke if I can.

Hey, it looks like we have pretty close to the same mods besides the header. I'm on e85 with a 4.56 FD right now. Do you think that the header added a big benefit even with these 2 mods?

EDIT: I see you're running FP, and catback. If you do end up going with the header, I would look into swapping back the stock catback and keep the FP etc and see how you like it. (increase in power > sound IMO) If you're in the market for a new header, I would get the new header from openflash that includes the Overpipe with it, a very good deal. I think E85, FD swap and the header/tune will make this VERY livable for not being FI ;) That said i'm looking into the ESC for a lower kick in torque and keeping very close to NA reliability :) |
I finally added some more exhaust goodies to my car!!
I added a Berk Overpipe and a Berk Catted Front Pipe. So it currently goes Openflash UEL -> Berk OP -> Berk FP -> Stock Catback and I LOVE the sound @Teseo I don't have a driveby yet, but I took this video just being behind it. Not loud at all when cruising, but beautiful when you get on it! [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYv5TMGmz_s"]UEL+Berk OP+Berk catted FP+ stock catback - YouTube[/ame] |
@Aztec
Sounds nice. Can do a cabin video, at least? |

Remember I also have a Perrin CAI, which helps with the sound as well. This is with the stock catback. I think it's perfect As requested: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIqvFDsc47U"]In-Car Exhaust Clip - YouTube[/ame] |

Haven't updated this thread in a while :)
Got some new tires recently, replaced my Goodyear F1A2 with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and love their ride quality and handling: Also the back bumper got replaced to get rid of that nice black spot haha https://i.gyazo.com/a25dedc048c91f66...5ebdc1ac94.jpg THEN the exciting news. I installed the Phantom Electric Supercharger. Bought it from fenton up in Canada. Foolishly started the install at 9pm on a Tuesday when this is my daily driver and I have work in the morning. Needless to say I finished it around 12:30am and IT WORKS!!! https://i.gyazo.com/8bb27b4e86da0724...a542df3b6e.jpg https://i.gyazo.com/4c8afca54fd51104...16a025f3f1.jpg The Torque increase is incredible when I'm giving it full boost (Literally just 70-100% throttle) About a half second to fully spool because it's electric and other than some minor problems with wiring and grounding issues. The kit has been flawless :) :burnrubber: EDIT: An example of troubleshooting when the ESC wasn't working properly. I sound so irritated throughout that video hahah!! The problem ended up being a short in my battery array due to some of the terminals not tightened down fully. Lots of struggle to find that one:lol::lol::lol: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBK4UUEIae4"]Voltage going up under boost (Green tiles) - YouTube[/ame] |

Just going to dump some progress pictures here.
Fixed exhaust leaks with new Berk Technology FP/OP New Taillights, very similar to Valentis, but with sequential turn signals Proper alignment and dial in -2.5 in front, -2 in the back. 0 toe in front, 1/16th of total toe in, in rear. Got the LEDs wired up on the Rocket Bunny front bumper, bypassing the junction box so they are piggybacking on just the DRL signal. New Raceseng Slammer Shift knob and Reverse lockout, love the custom print as well. Called 'City Lights' |
