I bought a house!

Hey guys, I bought a house. I got the keys in January and I've been working on it since. I haven't moved in yet because I've been really lazy about renovations, but it's getting there. I have the main living spaces furnished now so I can at least chillax here, although the master bedroom and the other half of the house isn't finished.

Still working on the house, so ignore tools/paint/etc that may be sitting around.

Congratulations!

CBR600RR 04-15-2015 03:08 PM

Eames chair is sick!!!! those things are pricey!

congrats on the house

irocz0r 04-15-2015 03:10 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys, though I should mention that the Eames chair is a FAKE! ;)

CBR600RR 04-15-2015 03:12 PM

^ fooled me. where did you get a fake one? I may actually buy one if it is cheap enough.

irocz0r 04-15-2015 03:14 PM

I found it on Craigslist. I think it was made around the 1970's by Plycraft. I've seen new fakes online for upwards of $800, and apparently they're not that good. This one was half that price, so I went for it. It's not bad. You don't sit in it like you would a real one though, so it's really just for looks, not design.

Replica chair!

Is it uncomfortable? :\

cdrazic93 04-15-2015 03:25 PM

No, it's perfectly comfortable. It just doesn't have the same sitting and leaning position as the real one. I think this picture demonstrates what I'm talking about, real one on the right:

Oh you don't want a fake one! The flange bolts won't line up and as soon as it gets wet the rust will set in, not to mention the tips will be loose and rattle. Oh... wait.... wrong thread!

Great looking place congrats.

Tbird232ci 04-16-2015 12:50 AM

You must be single.

SR5 04-16-2015 01:00 AM

Nice place! I'm in the same boat. yes got my own place and the 86 got its own garage.

After closing, 1st thing I opened: the garage door for the 86, and not the front door for me.

my dilemma right now: Mods vs Furniture..

Ultramaroon 04-16-2015 01:17 AM

Congrats! Love the vaulted ceiling & French doors. Very palatial.

jimmillion 04-24-2015 12:05 AM

Real question: where's the money shot? ie. the garage...

Your solution: Ikea.

Hoahao 04-24-2015 09:45 AM

Interesting stereo. Nice to see you young guys into vinyl, even 45's!! Looks like a Sansui receiver?? You might want to raise the speakers a couple of feet, or may be get low stands which tilt them back about 15 degrees or so. You got the beginnings of a really nice listening room there. Go to Audio karma dot Org and they will help you do it right.

echo419 04-24-2015 10:12 AM

I like your style. I'm closing on a house on Cinco De Mayo and I have to buy all the furniture. couches, dining tables, kitchenwares, everything. I've always lived with someone that had already furnished the place. basically all I have is my bedroom(with old shit that doesn't match) and the garage. I have everything but a nice standup tool box and a lift. not like I can put a lift in my new place but you get the point. :)

raven1231 04-24-2015 10:26 AM

great looking house bud congrats!

jflogerzi 04-25-2015 02:49 PM

Congrats man. I remember that feeling almost 2 years ago. One of the best feelings. Saving the down payment is the hardest part! Congrats again.

Vroomin86 04-25-2015 02:56 PM

Congrats man! I too bought my house recently. You should get the RECARO computer chair :D

Who8myrice 04-25-2015 03:21 PM

Congrats on house, must be awesome feeling for you.
Make sure to ask for payment chart(forgot the real name) from the lender to pay off next months principle along with current month payment.

I'm more interested in that Nintendo Power magazine

Edit: Just noticed that Motortrend magazine. I used to own a 1986 Pontiac Fiero. That was a fun car! Smaller than the twins.

fat her in law still has one. Sister in law wrecked it though. She's a terrible driver

SVTSHC 04-27-2015 10:54 PM

That would make me extraordinarily nervous to work underneath. Not going to lie. :scared0016::scared0016::scared0016:

Ya, I looked at the pics in the link and I would be leery for a while as well. Pretty sure I would get used to it after a bit though.
