TRD sf2 wheels
1 Attachment(s)
Just got my JDM TRD SF2 wheels from japanparts installed and wow! Currently the car has US Trd springs, sway bars, exhaust, and intake. I kept the stock tpms sensors. The wheels are made by TWS.

Damn, that's a lot of money for wheels in that spec...

Welcome to an exclusive club :)

Something about the TRD wheels I absolutely love. Such a clean look
|
The quality when you actually see them is awesome. I paid the car off so could finally pull the trigger and order them. They arrived in 15 days through Japanparts to my door.
|
Congrats man. Very exclusive, especially in USA.
|
Cheers and thanks for the info.

VERY nice!!!:burnrubber:

damn you must be loaded... I'd just get the TRD rim offered here in North America for a lot cheaper
|
True that is a option. However you get what you pay for. ie forged vrs cast wheels. Just my 2 cents. The other wheels I was considering where TWS Motorsport T66-F - 18x8.0J +44 / 5x100 - 56.1mm Bore - Gloss Silver and Advan GT Wheel - 18x8.0 / 5x100 / Offset +45 in racing hyper black.

While after driving the stock rim and tire setup for around 20,000 miles and having fun with Jeremy Clarkson driving style what a difference this setup has. The grip with the combined lower cg is amazing. I have yet to experience any rubbing up front even with spirited cornering. The gearing seams in my opinion to be corrected to a more complimentary ratio. I can't wait to hit the mountains and visit some of my favorite sections. Cheers.

Only rubbing was when I was running 25mm spacers front and back with about an inch drop. then, very slight rubbing on back tires on plastic upper lining of guard if one wheel left on a curb when driving down. But, the 25mm spacers make them look AWESOME. Highly recommended as then they are perfectly flush. Or, 20mm in front and 25mm in back. |
Also, for 3K, you coulda gotten a super baller, possibly custom set of wheels...

Thanks nezr. That is what it feels like. Not much of a stance guy so I'm happy with the super stock look.

TWS makes some of the best racing wheels in the world. And there is always going to be a 15% fee for the TRD label
|
I have been considering for a while getting a set of TOM'S FORGED ALLOY WHEEL EP-2 PLUS 17×7.0J Fr/Rr.
Size: 17x7.0J Offset: 47 PCD: 100 Hole: 5 Color: Silver Weight: 6.0kg = 13.227 pounds This way you can run the stock tires which can be picked up for basically nothing from people upgrading rims. It could've a lot of fun to roast them since you would drop 8.773 pounds a corner. In regards to "baller wheels" are you referring to show or go? Examples? |
Well, enkei rpf1's immediately come to mind. Probably the best bang for your buck. Could have got a daily driver set and a track set for the price of one set of those TRD wheels. Anything else out of Japan really. Maybe could have done a custom set of Rotiform's
|
Realistically when you look back in the post I would go with a set of TWS or Advan's. My preference is to have a set of wheels well suited to the vehicle that can clear a good bbk and is high quality. At the end of it I could get the trd sf2 wheels to my door for cheaper and way quicker than the general 4 month lead time for anything comparable. In addition no sales tax for Ca. Since when I bought them the yen was at 121 to the U.S. Dollar it makes it not a bad deal. The real reason I went this route is that the wheel will be available for a long time to come since trd Japan wil be forced to maintain stock as it is a factory option. Look rpf1's are great but I would rather get something I love than regret or trade out and waste a grand on something I didn't want. I am not a track guy. I lived in the mountains for 7 years and had a fully built integra prior and love hitting the roads hard. To each is own. Cheers!🍻

Great choice and tire fitment, very respectable.

Wasted money - who cares. I don't waste money on other stuff (smoking, drinking, expensive dining or holidays) and choose to "waste" my discretionary income on my car. And, boy do I waste it on my car! |

All I can say is go big! Not to date myself but this is what I had in my integra. Oh and yes I would still take a type r.

Of course, if you want something that's just flashy then you can ignore TWS. |
